United v. Benfica

Closely followed by Real and Athletico. Sorry it's just my way to hate Barca, because 99% of the world love them.
I'm sure you love Brazil then as well....Barca play beautiful football and are owned by their fans. Both things we aspire to do and half of which we have started the season doing on occasion.

Actually, I detest Brazil. Don't know why, maybe because they are a bunch of over-rated cnuts? If Ronaldinho does a stepover, the world drop their jaws in astonishment.. But when our Ronaldo does one, it's suddenly unnecessary and ineffective. That annoys me quite much.

2-0 Rooney and Saha to score the goals

Yes, i was but this is completely different circumstances. The players know what they need to do and i believe they will do it.

2-1. Rooney, Scholes, Miccoli.

Fair enough, here's hoping.

No, they have a full squad to choose from, and have just come off the back of a massive win for them.

If we'd just got something from one of our last two games, instead of dicking about as though we'd already won the group, we wouldn't be in this position.

I hate these types of games. I'll be shitting it until we're a goal up

Me too, if they get a goal, they would absolutely shut down and play 10-0-0 for the rest of the game. That would make it hard for us to brake them down. We haven't been able to produce under pressure of late, but this have changed recently.

they'll also start suffering from a mysterious bout of loss of balance that only seems to occur when they lose the ball.

symptoms include
having eyes fixed on the referree
rolling 5 to 10 times after falling
recurring miraculous recoveries after the whistle is blown

No worries lads! I've done 8 matchday threads in my career, we've won all of those games.

I only do them when called upon from now on, then you'll learn to appreciate my powers.

feck it is cruicial that we get the first goal. I hope we start like Barca today and go 2-0 up early in the game.

Also if Scholes gets a yellow he will be suspended for our next game.

I rather he get suspended now than later in the knock-out stage.

At least cards get wiped out for the next round so he just have to make it pass Benfica.

Miccoli is out injured isn't he?

And no, we really shouldn't be in this position, however here we are.

I'll be leaving for the game in just over an hour. Us being at home should increase the chances of this, but if we can just play our normal game, quick tempo, wise incisive passing, we could get an early goal and so much of the pressure and tension will be lifted [now wouldn't that be nice eh? ;)].

We musn't underestimate them, it is do or die for both of us though, hopefully this year, we win out.

2-0 Saha and Ronaldo to score.

Can't wait! Going to watch it on the comp though, sad.

Edwin van der Sar

Gary Neville - Rio Ferdinand - Nemanja Vidic - Patrice Evrà

Cristiano Ronaldo - Michael Carrick - Paul Scholes - Ryan Giggs

Wayne Rooney - Louis Saha

Bench: Kuszczak, Brown, Heinze, O'Shea, Fletcher, Park, Smith.
