World Cup Reds return

Four of United's World Cup players have been named in the squad to face Oxford United on Tuesday night.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Gabriel Heinze, Louis Saha and Mikael Silvestre are all set to make their first pre-season appearances since returning from Germany.

John O'Shea also returns after an injury scare sustained in the Reds' triumphant LG Amsterdam Tournament campaign.

The more experienced players are accompanied to the Kassam Stadium by a healthy number of younger players, including Academy striker Sean Evans.

United: Foster, Heaton, Simpson, Bardsley, Heinze, O'Shea, Silvestre, Richardson, Miller, Fletcher, D Jones, R Jones, Martin, Ronaldo, Solskjaer, Saha, Rossi, S Evans.

I'm really looking forward to this match. Gonna be good to see heinze in red again.

See, all those hysterics about missing players is being shown to be as misplaced as it is.

Nice to see some of the lads back.
Would be nice if more than three or four of them could play in any one game together, at some point

It seems rather silly to me, this pre-season of ours, even if some of the young players have genuinely impressed

there should be three points at the top of that page telling you where and how to do it.

Team:

Foster

Bardsley
O'Shea
Silvestre
Heinze

Ronaldo
D.Jones
Fletcher
Richardson

Saha
Solskjaer

Why is it that whenever Richardson is in the team, I think it looks weaker. Sorry Kieran. :(

Arrr but he is improving. Played spectacularly on the last day of the season. Hope he makes it this season because this will probably be his last unless he improves. Fletcher's name makes the team sheet look shitter in my opinion.

Let's not forget that this is a great night for Ole...I don't think he's ever played in the same side as Ronaldo and Gabby? Or Saha? And he probably thought he never would.

David Jones' last chance to prove himself I reckon. Hope he has a good game

He's definitely played in the same team as Ronaldo before, at least a few times before he got injured. Not sure about the others though

More like 1st real chance. I think he's got the season to impress. SAF has already said he'll be part of the 1st team squad.

Good line up, looking forward to this game...

It's not Sean, it's been mis reported. It's Johnny. (Evans)

'fraid so. It's clearly Johnny on the bench. Which actually makes more sense, what with us having a few players at the back playing their first game this pre-season and only Danny Simpson to cover according to most web sources.

Nice play by Saha, a little give and go on the edge of the box didn't quite come off.

It´s pathetic.
