United v Reading [FACUP]

Too true... in fact, in the last 8 games they've scored 17 pts to our 19, scored 21 goals (we've scored 22) and let in 9 against our 8. Could be a tough game...

this will be a very tough match and we are not certain by any means to get through...

...plus I am a bit worried that Rooney is not available.. :nervous:

Tricky one 2-1 for us

------------Pig-------------
Brown---Rio----Vida---Heinze
Ron--Carrick--Fletch-----Park
--------Larsson-------------
-------------Saha-----------

I can see nearly all of that being the starting 11 bar possibly Silvestre getting a game instead of either Rio or Vidic(possibly Vidic).

Coppel will generally play a few bench players. Though since that means the likes of Seol, Convey, and Dave Kitson - it's not exactly a drop in talent. Actually a bit of a rise

I've heard that Hahnemann said a few weeks ago that Reading will rest many players, but has Steve Coppell said anything about that?

now why on earth would Reading rest players?
its not like they are in the league title race...

First priority is the league

I'm afraid that team won't do the job.

Im with ya on that on Heinze will get a serious work out and also tweety always has the potential to make a mistake come 60-70 minutes on the clock

Vida and Rio at the back. Maybe then put Heinze in at left back add Gaz and thats a tough back four to break down.

In the real world, a manager needs to give playing time to his non-regulars for all sorts of reasons. It's only in the FM & CM world where second stringers will happily sit on the bench and be as sharp and fit as a fiddle when they have not played for months.

---------------------Kuszczak---------------

--Brown--------Rio------------Silvestre----Heinze--

--Ronaldo-----Carrick--------Fletcher------Park---

--------------Larsson--------Rooney------

1)Heaton
2)John O Shea
3)Kieran Richardson
4)Evra
5)Solskjaer

Give Scholes a rest, imo, and Vida.

I don't think we will win against Reading with that team.

-

If we draw on saturday the replay will be three days before the liverpool game at anfield.

Kuszczak
Brown Vidić Silvestre Heinze
Park O´Shea Kaka Richardson
Saha Robinho

Got my ticket for this game today.

Anyone else from the Caf going?

Kusczak

Brown -- Vida -- Rio -- Heinze

Ronnie -- Carrick -- Fletch -- Park

--- Larsson -- Saha ---

That's strong enough. Easily.

It won't be an easy match thats for sure. Reading are the suprise package in the premiership this season. Lita is a real goal threat and they have a very stable formation thats got them 4 wins out of 5.

I'd take a 1-0.

My mate was telling me that Reading are not up for this and are going to play a reserve team :)

So if they do , were through surely

Reading will win 1-0, we'll rest too many players.

I expect too see something like this:

---------Kuszczak--------
Neville-Brown-Silvestre-Heinze
Park-Fletcher-Carrick-Richardson
-------Saha-Solskjaer-------

There is so much wrong with that.

First off, Rio or Vidic, if not both will play.

Second, there's no way Fletch and Richie will ever start in the midfield together, ever.

Third, Ole will not start.

I probably agree. We have fielded strong teams in our last 2 cup games so i expect pretty much the same here.

They've already done it twice this season, and ironically one of them games was Vs Reading....

----------Kuszczak-----------

Nev ----- Rio----- Vidic ------ Heinze

Ronnie -- Carrick -- Fletch ---- Park

----- Rooney ----- Saha -----

3-0.

Lovely.

When? I don't remember this.

ps. feck yea you're right, but that was way back in September so no wonder I don't remember (the Reading tie), Vidic made his first start that match, and Heinze was playing not Evra, just to give you an idea of the differences in teams. We are clearly not the same team now.

What was the other match they both started?

Southend. :(

I hope we get to see Larsson and Saha start together. Been looking forward to seeing how that would work. :)

Alright well I guess I have to change my statement.

Fletcher and Richie will never start together, ever, again this season, barring injury. :p
