Barclays Premiership

9th September 2006
Avenue: Old Trafford
KO: 17.15

Score Prediction: 2-1

The Hotspurs will be hungry for victory after a poor run, but class to tell in the end.

Player to watch: Louis Saha

Will be our first major test of the season, hopefully Nev, Rio and Carrick will all be fully fit.
Tough but we'll scrape through 1-0
Giggs to score

a tough one this, we dont even know whos fit and who isnt. ill assume gaz and rio are fit (lets hope)

.................VDS.................
Gaz.......Rio........Wes....Evra
Ronaldo..Oshea..Carrick..Park
.............Giggs...Saha.........

United 3 - 0 Spurs
Saha, Ronaldo, Giggs

United to crush spurs with a dazzling performance and assert themselves as title contenders

Come on united

Let´s wait for official statement about Rio´s injury.

If it is a broken toe I doubt he will be ready for this match.

there's a good chance Smithy might be fit for this one

Wouldn't throw him in just yet. He have played serious football in a while, he should make his comeback against a weaker side.

We have hard games coming up, but Reading 23rd of september maybe he could play in.
After Reading, we got Newcastle(h), Wigan(away), pool, Bolton(a) so hard games.

HOPE Heinze is fit, it would be very bad to see Evra or Silvestre vs Aaron Lennon :(

Much as I love Heinze, he has been known to be skinned before now. I think Lennon would be a handful for any defender.
I hope there's no Spurs backlash - they've been really poor so far this season. Let's hope that's because they no longer have Carrick!

I read the only problem with Heinze is he has to rebuild his muscles strenght. He has no injury at all, should be back soon I guess.

saha to score, spurs have been shit without ledley king in centre of defence, balls into the box causes them serious problems, look at Johnsons goal yesterday. i'd double up on lennon by playing richardson who is good at defending aswell and has the pace. Silvestre must not play in this game, i'd be happy with evra or heinze. two strong wingers like ronaldo and richardson will get channce against there rubbish full backs. Giggs upfront aswell.

we have problems with who we will play in defence and we will miss Rooney and Scholes for this one...plus Spurs will play their hearts out after the start they have had...

this will be our toughes match so far....glad we have the international break.

2-0 (Carrick & Saha)

1-1

Giggs 13
And after a whole hour of attacking and not taking our chances Jenas will equalise for them

Heinze is possibly the worst defender we have to match up against a pacy tricky winger like Lennon. He'll be skinned with ease. Evra or Mickey would be better options.

Sorry, couldn't help.

Heinze will be skinned with ease, and Evra or Silvestre won't? Come on... You certainly saw Wigan's goal against us, didn't you? It was Silvestre who was skinned with ease. Evra would be quite better, but still looks shaky at times.

Say what you want, for me Heinze is the best defender in the world, he would cope with Lennon alright.

I'm eagerly anticipating this match after coming across a Spurs forum where the general consensus was this match was an easy 3 points for Spurs with Rooney and Scholes suspended. I wonder if their early season form compared to United's form has some of their fans thinking a bit different.

i'm going to this one,{still waiting on tickets to arrive}.
pissed i wont get to see rooney play,as was the case last time i was at OT
0-0 v boro at the end of last season,i hope i get to see some goals this time.
hoping for gabby to be fit
score 3 or 4-1 to us,
saha hatrick,as he's my capt in fantasy league.

we should hammer spurs...they've been shit so far. if we don't, it'll be massive missed opportunity.

-------------vds----------------
gaz----rio----brown--------evra
ronaldo---carrick-oshea----park
----------------giggsy---------
-----------saha----------------

with saha, giggs, ronaldo, and park running onto balls provided by carrick..we should rip spurs apart. Evra is perfect for handling lennon i believe since lennon is tiny and evra won't be exposed in the air in this case, but has brilliant pace to counter lennon. Excited about this match.

its not the worst time of the season to drop points. but not wishing on it by any means. our main weakness in recent seasons is underestimating the 'weak' or off-form teams.

yeah but ferguson will put that across i'd imagine. the break will help, the players'll be focused on the spurs match.
