83 mins: Forlan immediately gets on the ball but can only run it out of play.

82 mins: Diego Forlan is on to replace Ferdinand.

Hadn't you basically qualified when they beat you though?

Yes.

I was talking somewhat tongue in cheek, and more about the result than the opposition.

Indirect free kick to Stutgart
2 minutes plus added time left :nervous:

Right, Because now the group is wide open again if this stays the same.

Rangers will top the group after today and would be more than happy with a point off you.

Lordy, we´ve been pathetic tonight. Our defense what happend there they were good in the first half but the second half good gracious.

We've been very poor imo.

Stuttgart have looked more lively, fitter, and more determined. And our passing has been casual and sloppy.

Great game by Howard tho.

Seriously?

I thought he had an ok night, really fecked up one cross which was headed off the line, I thought he was a little slow off his line for the second goal and the whole defense was shakey, communication was poor IMO.

I know he saved the penalty but it would have been no shock to see it taken again.

He did ok, but great is a little generous IMO.

Well that was shit. Makes the group stage more interesting though ;)

Nah, the 'make sure the keeper does go forward on a penalty' thing is an english thing. I don't think UEFA said the same thing to its referees.

Stuttgart deserved to win tonight. Our defence was poor and I can't remember one clear-cut chance that we created. And let's face it, that wasn't a penalty.

Positives from tonight: RVN scored a penalty. Hopefully, that will give his confidence a boost, Howard's great save on the penalty (nice to see that after that mistake with the corner), and Panathanikos' last minute goal. Rangers are only ahead by a point.

You're probably right. Definitely right about about the communication. Ferdinand was dire, but tbh, I don't think he's had as many good games for us that he should have had.
