That wind is brutal and it impacts on a game so heavily, even at PL level. That we're controlling the game so comfortably is impressive in spite of that.

I think we have been ok. Started really well, fell away and should be 3-0 nil. Watford are continuously making mistakes and we're not capitalising.

Memphis and Lingard are as quick as any of our players apart from Rooney.

They're quick but very wasteful on the counter. I don't think this team is blessed with speed to start with, which makes picking teams apart on the counter quite difficult. We'll have to pass our way through Watford if we're to win.

We had no options, apart from you know pushing young forward and putting on darmian, or straight swap with pereira, playing another striker and pushing lingard or Memphis wide..

The sub was the wrong one, IMO. The fluid front 4 was really causing them problems. I think LvG should have shown a bit more balls and gone like-for-like with Pereira for Herrera and kept the system the same.

Mata has suffered since Herrera has gone off, being the sole attacking midfielder. The two in tandem was pulling Watford all over the place.

Long passes out to the right have been problematic. Looks like the sun is in everyone's eyes with those low stands and low winter sun. shouldn't have as much of a problem with that in the 2nd half as the other end of the pitch seems a bit mnore shaded.

We're playing well though. Good to see runs into the box and a desire to put pace on the ball.

Speaking of which - where is Craig Gordon thesedays? Didn't Sunderland blow their entire budget on him that summer? And then he didn't play the majority of that season, if I remember correctly.

I've been surprised by what a battler BFS is (hadn't seen him regularly enough before he came here to know that was part of his game.) His passing has been a bit of a let-down, and he seems reluctant to shoot, but he's pretty fierce in the middle of the pitch. It's good to see.
