He was excellent before his injury a year ago. He added goals and assists to his game and was by far Spurs' best player the first part of last season, but he hasn't looked the same since the injury.
Well, not really. There are other players in his generation that are better than him or more talented than him so he isn't. Not denying he's top notch and whoever comes in place won't be as good. But it does soften the blow when you have replacements like that.
