Welbeck: He's ready!

his shooting can be improved, too straight at the keeper and feeble

I think he should be given a regular run in the team, the more he feels stable the less likely he'll make bad decisions on the pitch due to overeagerness to impress with limited time.

He definitely has better ball-striking technique than Obertan who it seems spent most of his childhood caressing, rubbing his cock on it without attempting to kick the bleeding thing.

That piece of skill in the middle of the pitch was sublime. Would love a GIF of it.

All in all I thought it was another neat cameo, certainly has potential.

It was a typical C.Ronaldo impression (when he arrived at the club).

His first touch is too erratic. Usually needs a lot of time to think when he's on the ball. Other than that its all positives.

His first touch is actually superb, imo. He seems to have a bit of twinkle toes and that's always a good sign. He does have a very bright future ahead of him and any chance of him going to the World-cup with Ghana or England? We could have a decent idea in about 3 or 4 months time i'd guess. If there is a surprise call up for anyone i'd like for it to be Welbeck. We never know.

Very encouraging cameo from him. I have said in the past that he's been a little passive when he's been in the first team so it was very positive to see him taking shots on rather than trying to overplay. Some great moments of skill as well that showed the potential he has when he starts to believe that he belongs at this level.

In place of who?

Well on the left wing spot.. ahead of Obertan, Nani, Park and Giggs in certain games if need be. The lad needs to be given a shot and we shouldn't slow down his development.. lets see what he's made of.

He's starting to fill out a bit as well - couldn't help but notice he was brushing players off where even a couple of months ago he would probably have been overpowered himself.

Yup. This is why I think he still has a lot of time on his side.

He'll benefit from playing time but it's not a requisite yet. He's still developing.

At the moment I'm unsure what sort of player he's going to develop into.
