wouldnt count on it sky havent picked all their live games yet

Bit of history as a bogie team against us WBA. I was there when they beat us in 3-0 in the 80s. The following season we took Big Ron, Robo and Moses. We beat em 5-1 :D

Although I'm tipping us to beat em 3-1, I'm not expecting an easy ride.

Stato's corner:

Their leading scorer is Dichio on 6
We have SIX players on that or more!
We've only won 1 of our last 5 away, losing 3!!
(at least that was Liverpoo :D )
We've chasing only our 3rd away win of Prem season
We still havent kept a clean sheet away from home
This is our first visit to the Hawthorns since Sep 85
They have won 8 of the last 11 meetings here, the last 2-0 in March 84
There has not been a 0-0 draw here since Jan 39
No player has scored a hat trick in this fixture since Jesper Olsen

:D

...we also are the only team in the premiership who has not kept a clean sheet away from home (no wet-dream or affair jokes, please!) in the premiership
So our shootin' boots better be on!

edit- sorry i didnt see that 'stat' in your original bunch of stats, i apolagise. dont beat me :(

Yeah I can remember the eighties, I was at the 5-1 game...

I was also at the 5-3 game at Old Trafford so that wasn't quite as good of course...

We had very mixed fortunes v West Brom during that spell when they had big Ron as manager...

In one of those games, United fans set fire to the wooden roof. It all seemed quite amusing at the time, but couldve been very serious, I also remember the police letting both sets of fans out together - no trouble mind

Won't be an easy match this. We only beat them 1-0 at Old Trafford and they showed against Arse that they're no pushover. And our away form... Having said that I think we're due a big win soon. If we get an early goal I can see us score 6 or even more. Tho if we don't get the early goal it might end up another thriller.

Keano won't play, I'm sure of that. I also think Micky will be rested and possibly Giggs too. That would mean a lot to do for O'Shea at LB (offensive at least) but he can handle it. Becks, Phizza, Seba and Scholesy will make up midfield with Ole as striker/midfielder on the left side. And Ruud as a somewhat alone striker.

Ok lets start some predicted line up's, ill start:

-------------Fab--------

-----G.Neville--Rio---Wes---John O'--

--- Beckham----Veron---Scholes--Giggs--

-----------Diego----------------------

--------------Ruud-----------------------

I think thats what i'd pkay aswell. I dont like takin mickey out the team, he's awesome, truly awesome, but he's gotta be due for a rest, the poor lad

Radio links for this match (plz....some active ones...) anyone???!!!

Finally a game i dont have to wake up at the crack of dawn to watch.

I think phil will play in the midfield with scholesey up front.

don't know if it's been posted before....

Quirez' match preview and some thoughts on Ryan:

We're very happy at the moment, it's really beautiful at the moment. Nicky Butt is back in training, and so only Quinton Fortune is injured. I hope that Nicky will be back playing next week.

It's not been easy with all the games over the Christmas period. More than the physical side, it's the mental side of the players that's hard to keep fresh. You get mental fatigue playing a lot of games home and away with all the travelling. Keeping the players motivated and focused can be hard, but they are professionals and they know what is important for us. They know that for us to succeed we cannot just do the right things once in a while, we have to do them all the time. Sometimes if we're a little bit tired we have to go a bit deeper in our bodies and minds. That is the point this week.

It could be a very difficult game at West Brom. They know that we'll be going there with only one thing in our minds - to win. And we go there knowing that they cannot lose. We are not in a comfortable position in the League, and neither are they - for different reasons. It will be a very very difficult game for both teams, but with our quality and concentration and desire we can do it. We need to work hard though.

It's not our job to judge whether criticism of Ryan Giggs is fair or not. We respect the criticism, but we know what's going on. We need to make him believe he can play as he did at the start of the season.

But Ryan is the number one player for Manchester United in terms of minutes played. He and Mikael Silvestre have played 88% of all the minutes in all the competitions at the club. He has reason to feel tired at the moment. It's important not to listen to much criticism. He knows that you cannot perform at 100% all the time, but it's important to keep your concentration and focus and keep working. His good form will come back. It's just a temporary thing.

We're fighting in all four competitions, but in terms of the League we believe we can do much better especially if every time we play we do the right things. We're playing against great teams and great players. The Blackburn game was a great performance, but we didn't put in the same desire in the Sunderland game. We dropped a little bit in that game and we weren't so efficient. We can't afford to do that, even a little bit. Even a small drop is enough for other teams to believe they can beat us. All games need to be like big finals for us now.

Enjoy the game,

Carlos Queiroz

Remind me who he is again ;)

plus IMHO ole need's a rest of some sort, if that means only playin the 2nd half then so be it

He's had a rest.

It's time the Ruud/Ole partnership was given a chance again, tho it might take more than one match to catch light.

They were the leading strike pair in Europe last season - we need goals, so does it make sense to just discard it!

Ole probably did need a break having played in every game bar one until recently - but I wouldn't necessarily put his missed chances down to tiredness. Just one of those things, and often when a striker is off form, people say he needs games to get the cutting edge back. And he's been no more guilty than Ruud has of missing chances, and Ruud has had a lot of rests this season.
