-------------------- VDS ---------------------
Fletcher ---- Neville --- Vidic ------ O'Shea
Ronaldo ---- Carrick --- Scholes ---- Giggs
----------- Tevez -------- Berbatov ---------

Only thing is I'm not sure if Scholes would start this after the Spurs game. Though I can't see who else would play there since Fletcher is likely to deputize at right-back.

No more injuries and three points is all I'm asking for. I reckon some players will come back from injury for the Everton home game so we just have to cope for this game... West Brom are decent at home, but in fact they are bottom of the table so it really is a must-win game. Assuming neither Fabio nor Welbeck will be available we should line up like this:

Van der Sar
Fletcher - Neville - Vidic - O'Shea
Ronaldo - Carrick - Giggs - Tosic
Berbatov - Tevez

Decent enough team IMHO, we could also put Fletcher in central midfield and stick Eckersley to right-back, but I think Fergie will choose experience over youth in this particular case.
On a sidenote the fixture list is really busy, it's about time our players get some rest...

Greening is out for West Brom. Good news for us, he's their best midfielder I think.

Ronaldo to score a header off a set piece from Tosic

De Laet to be excersized for this one then?

Petrucci, Brandy or Maceda on the bench? All 3 scored yesterday for the reserves.

Don't care to predict until match day but we're probably assured experience in this one rather than risk.

Team should be...

GK: VDS

RB: Fletcher
CB: Neville
CB: Vidic
LB: O'Shea

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Scholes
CM: Carrick
LM: Giggs

CF: Tevez
CF: Berbatov

Subs: PIG, Eckersley, Chester, Gibson, Possebon, Tosic, Welbeck

WBA are good at home but we'll surely have enough to win, 0-1 Vidic

any word on rio?

jeez we are down to the bare bones in defence. assuming rio is out, will be -

vds

fletch vida neville jos
ronaldo carrick giggs nani/park (if either is fit, if not, then tosic)
tevez, berba.

once we get over this game with 3 points, i will be happy. should have most of the injuries cleared in 9 days time. lets hope the dippers dont draw with everton tomorrow.

Eh? Surely a draw would be good. I'm hoping for a draw.

Would like to see a midfield 3 of Carrick, Fletcher and Giggs. That should be enough to control the game, with Scholes on for Giggs in the second half.

Front 3 of Ronaldo, Berb and Tevez - plenty of fire power to get a couple of goals.

Edwin in goal. No idea about defence. Hopefully we won't be doing much defending.

Isn't Wes going to be back for this one ?

If so

------------------VDS

Neville - Wes - Vida - O'Shea

Ronaldo - Carrick- Giggs-Tosic

Tevez - Berbatov

Our game with Everton gets brought forward if tomorrows game ends in a draw

yep, exactly. gives us 2 extra days rest, vital to us with all the little niggly knocks we are pickin up. 6 days rest between West Brom and Everton is far far better than 4. and also f*cks up plans for people who for example are working sat to take early day/full day off on Monday :)

Cant see Tosic starting this one at all. More likely to seeRonnie on the left and Gibson on the right. Then again Fergie might take a punt on Eckersley and then we have Fletcher back in the midfield

agree with all of this

Would rather Tosic start than Gibson if its a toss up between the two.

Gibson has offered nothing so far this season to the first team

If Fabiiiio will not be injured then

No wait.... they are almost all injured..

a bad 0-1 victory, berba scores...as alwasy.

West Brom have 6 of thier first 7 central defenders out.

Greening, Morrison and Miller are all injured.

I feel better knowing this.

Read an article on some website (sorry can't remember which) but it said that Fabio will be OK for this game but Welbeck is out.

I just took a look at a West Brom community, they almost have as many injuries as ourselves.

Meite, Jonas [Olsson], Morrison, Miller, Greening, Donk, Barnett, Clement, Moore off the top of my head are all injured. That's excluding the ever rock solid Martis.

Meite, Olsson, Donk and Barnett are their main centre-backs, Miller and Morrison are key players, Greening is their captain. According to some guy on the site they'll probably have Zuiverloon back, but he is their only decent centre-back. Let's put pressure on them and they'll collapse. No doubt they'll work their socks off, but as soon as we score we should have the game in the bag.

West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United
Barclays Premier League
Tuesday, 27th January 2009, 19:45
The Hawthrons

Another Premier League match and I just can't wait. I love those matches we play every three days, but I know it's oto much for our team, because of injuries we have. I don't remember who's going to be fit from our injury list for this match, but it's not probably our defensive player. And that's are where we have big problems. After Tottenham match it's Fabio who's injuried, too. We don't have many options in defense. However, it will be good to have Edwin van der Sar back - I'm sure he'll start, after he has been rested by Ferguson.

I would go with Fletcher on the right and O'Shea on the left. We haven't many opportunities to choose, so it has to be those players. In centre, Vidic with Neville again. I hope to see Vidic in form again, because he wasn't yesterday Vida I remember from last several games. He lost his player and he scored a goal, he was very close to receive red card, forutnately it was only yellow.

I would pick Giggsy since first minutes for this game. He hasn't recently played as a winger, but he don't need to do it all the match. I like his crosses, I won't stop loving it. He can do it, so he is very helpful in those type of matches, away against weak opponent, but it's their home game against Manchester United, so they'll probably play very good game again, like many others this season. Sometimes we can play 4-3-3 with Ronaldo, Tevez & Berbatov in attack and Giggsy in the middle and sometime 4-4-2 with Giggsy on the wing to see his crosses and Berbatov heading it ;)

As someone wrote, all of our injuried players (only without Welbeck and da Silvas) are international ones. And we are still winning! That's amazing. We can't stop it. We can't stop also... our wonderful record. 942 minutes without a conceded goal. If we don't lose against West Brom, we'll beat Petr Cech's record from 2004/05 season (1025 minutes). UNITED!

Berbatov Tevez
Giggs Scholes Carrick Ronaldo
O'Shea Vidic Neville Fletcher
van der Sar

Erm brought Forward...2 days less rest.

:confused::confused: did you not read me post?

anyway, fingers crossed everton do the business today. odds on a draw are not tempting enough to put a few quid on to cover taking saturday off work!!

back on topic, does anybody know how many minutes since we condeded..its 9 X 90 plus injury time plus about 43 in the arsenal game.

Zuiverloon is a right back, he's quite decent, did well at OT for a half. Pele is thier only fit centreback really, and Hoefkens will go to centre. He's pretty crap, even Stoke fans don't rate him.

I'm happy with thier injuries though, Morrison is a really good player.

Someone over there wrote that Zuiverloon might move into the centre, that's why I thought he could also play centre-back. Anyway, we should be able to beat them despite our injury crisis.

We dont even have an entire defence for this one.

we are to the bare bones on defence.

I have a feeling Fergie wont play Fletch at right back.

VDS
Eckersley Neville Vidic O'Shea
Ronaldo Carrick Fletcher Giggs
Tevez Berbatov

A good thrashing is on the cards, I reckon. 3-0.

My brother and stepdad are West Brom fans. Can't afford to lose this one!

is morrisson the one who scored the goal against villa .. he is one of the better creative players they have .

moore + ishamel miller out as well ..
jay simpson looks decent.. strong and fast ... bednar has a presence as well .. likely that they will play long balls into their strikers a lot ..
nev in the middle to win the headers :nervous: .. vida needs to have another good game ..

hope to see brown on the bench for this .. hasnt he been training for a few days now
