West Ham vs. Manchester United

Gosh, we could've easily been about 5-6 up. For all those struggles injury-wise, we've been doing very, very well I'd say. Only thing that concerns me is Rafael. Of course some of those 'fouls' of his were pathetic dives from those retards Carroll and Downing but he still seems to be late to every ball. Fletcher and Fellaini seem to work very well together, so do Mata and Kagawa. Fantastic goal from Rooney.

Mata finding Kagawa on the left is very effective so far.

Who'd have thought playing your most talented ball players would produce better football.
Young really just letting everyone down. I feel like he's lost it every time he's got the ball, apart from the assist for Rooney. Put on januzaj or nani for him and we'll be flying.

Each time the ball goes to Young, we lose it.

He's the odd one out. You've got Kagawa, Mata and Rooney playing the slick stuff...

...then it goes to Young and the move dies. Young off for Nani thanks.

Its amazing how much better we look playing our quick, creative players together instead of relying on hard working cloggers. We've made more chances this game than I remember us making in ages, and West Ham have 13 clean sheets this season.

2 goals up? Perfect time to bring Nani back into the fore, though I'm only saying this because you fellas keep mentioning him, I don't know if he's on the bench which I'll assume he is but equally, knowing you lot, he's probably currently on the space station or something.

I dunno about Nani but thinking about Young being stranded on the space station makes me pretty wet.

Young has ruined practically every attack. Good 'assist', though. The calls for Nani are good ones.

Hopefully Nani comes on for Young. Rafael subbed for Cleverley, and move Jones to RB, Fellaini to CB and Clev to CM. Rafael is gonna get sent off soon.

Movement, pace, tempo! It's like a weird dream.

Now just feck Young off for Nani/Welbeck.

We'd be so much better off just giving Nani a run of games and hoping he finds some form. Hope he gets off the bench early in the 2nd half.

Think we've looked really nice on the ball. Issues defensively as you'd expect, I reckon we're defending as well as you'd expect in the circumstances.

But in attack its looking really nice, makes so much difference having Mata drop deeper in a way Rooney just wouldn't when he plays with RVP. Both have been great, Mata is so good in tight areas and Rooney is bringing in others well, as is Kagawa who's looking good with mata to play off. Just Young providing the frustration, just not in the same class of player as the others.

Enjoyable half. We're doing really well, all things considered. Our attack is linking up fluently and we just keep on counter attacking. There's plenty of space for us to exploit. Can't complain about our defending either. They've dealt with everything thrown their way.

West Ham's tactics are laughable today. No wonder their fans are annoyed having to watch all those aimless long balls.

bump.

really quite astonishing!

Young and Kagawa been pretty ineffective, both offering good options and movement out wide but very little end product. Januzaj on the right would tear this game open

Bring on Nani. Matches like this should be all about seeing which players are prepared to give it their all next season. We've got the Europa League locked up so let's play with joy. Young off, Nani on.

Mata and Kagawa have been good. Fellaini has been decent. I wouldn't mind seeing Nani for Young.

Totally agree. It was a great half to watch, we played some really good football at times. There was a lot of one-touch passing between Rooney, Mata and Kagawa that looked really promising, hopefully they start more games together.

Nani on for Young would do nicely, would still give us some pace on the counter

Mata and Kagawa both should have scored and put this game to bed, other than that the link-up between them and Rooney has been nice to see and Rooney's first goal was a cracker.

My boy Mata looking great this half, no surprises given wheres hes been, and linking well with Kagawa and Rooney. Still think Fellaini is a liability at times giving it away in dangerous areas and being clumsy. Good half from you boys!

Its funny watching such a fluid 3 then ashley young look soo out of his depth technically. Every short passing move ends with him.

Suprise Mata and Kagawa play suprise all a sudden we play good football.

I am really liking Kagawa-Mata-Rooney in attack. Out Young and bring in Nani/Januzaj, get 3rd and seal the game. Young is really useless.

Great half, as good as we've played this season. Having Carrick to play out from the back has been invaluable. We need to see more of Rooney, Mata and Kagawa together, they're class. Van Persie's injury could be a blessing in disguise. They're given us trouble with their long punts but other than that it's been great.

Good performance thus far. Confidence the architect. West Ham are very pedestrian and it isn't a surprise to see us target them on the break.

Moyes is an away specialist with United. Translating this urgency into the home performances would be nice. We need to keep it clean in the first 10 mins of the second half otherwise I can see nerves fraying.

Some lovely link up play between Kagawa, Mata, and Rooney up top.

Capable of playing INTELLIGENT football, with short passing and looking for each other.

Young has wasted so many opportunities, over-running the ball and not released it in time (the chance fizzles into nothing) several times, every winger needs to be sold apart from Januzaj, get Young off at half time he's terrible.

Hopefully Nani comes on for Young in the second half at some point. Young hasn't been bad and did well for the second goal but there are times where he has ruined a few moves/counter attacks by giving the ball away or taking a poor first touch. I feel we'd be creating even more chances if Nani were on the pitch.

That can't be right. Much of our attacking has gone through the right as it always does. Granted he's been useless but he can't have completed almost no passes from the right in their half.

Impressed with Mata, his best half for Utd IMHO.

Think it's been Fellaini's best half as well. He has done more than just keep it simple (which has garnered some unwarranted praise IMO) and has been useful in breaking down West Ham's attacks in the middle while starting ours.

Just needs to somehow give less fouls if that's possible.

I think Moyes must realise how much more superior Mata is in the central role. Also, Mata and Kagawa are on the same wavelength, so they make movements that complement each other. Now, if we had Nani or Januzaj playing on the right hand side, we'd be a strong two-pronged attack.

Fletcher needs to make quicker decisions. Apart from that, we've been quite good. The counters!

Reading back and seeing a lot of praise for Kagawa, surprising but maybe I missed some stuff from him. Thought he was barely in the game, only times when he's been brought in is when Fletch or Felli have forced a mistake and we've got them on the counter
