Some very good football so far. Young been disappointing and wasted good openings. Rafael again been terrible.

Very good game so far from us. Mata, Kagawa and Rooney combining brilliantly at times. Fellaini and Fletch solid. Buttner actually doing better than Rafael. Young looks like a championship quality, as usual.

Enjoying it.

This is how you are supposed to use Mata. If only we had someone other than Young, then the football would be terrific.

The defence has been quite solid so far to my surprise. They've been under decent pressure from balls into the box. We've looked dangerous on the counter. Looks like there is potential for Mata and Kagawa to work well together. And of course the first Rooney goal, wow. The second one is nearly the exact opposite of how good the first one was.

We're creating lots of good chances in the box. It makes a nice change.

Now if we could only get rid of Young and replace him with someone good enough for this club.

Tell you the obvious, we're looking far, far better when only one of RvP or Rooney plays. Brilliant passing and movement between Mata, Kagawa and Rooney... add Danny in the mix and this could be fecking excellent. Weirdly enough this is our fourth decent away performance in a row... 0-0 Arsenal, 2-0 Palace, 3-0 West Brom and now 2-0 up at Upton Park. We're the best away team in the country now

Mata scored a shitload of goals for Chelsea but looks like a deer in headlights in any sort of scoring position

If Nani or Januzaj came on for Young I think I'd have to log off to milk my widge.

Rooney isn't a number 10 in the 4231, he is a number 9 (second striker is his position in 442).

We've been saying this all season, Rooney and RVP will struggle unless we play 442 with two quality box to box centre midfielders. In the 4231 we should play Rooney or RVP up top with Mata, Kagawa and Januzaj / nani behind.

That said, as we saw against Olympiakos, I don't mind 433 where RVP plays up top and Rooney drops into the midfield three where there is an anchor man as opposed to the double pivot.

We see it but Moyes doesn't.

I mean, did he honestly expect Young to link up well? Bring nani on, he needs minutes and he could be important against Bayern.

Good half from us. A little suspect in defence, but we look good going forward and are actually creating chances. It's like they just realised if they transferred the ball forward quickly the defence doesn't have time to set up and make it hard for them

Damn I didn't realise it was that bad. He has to be sold this summer, we keep talking about deadwood and no one else at the club sums it up more than Ashley Young.

Ashley Young as well as Valencia are just not top level footballers. Ashley has a great shot and Valencia works his ass off on the pitch but that's just not enough for one of the best football clubs in the world. Both have to go in the summer or we have to bring in at least one more capable winger who is fast and is actually a good footballer. Someone like Hazard or Reus.

Jamie Redknapp. He reminds me of Barnes giving opinion. Bubbling with incoherent insubstantial words.

Mata, Rooney and Fellaini have been great, Young not so. We're getting there at least with the front four looking fluid and decent support from the midfield.

How can you not?

Because he's slow both on the ground and in terms of moving the ball on, clumsy and constantly fouls people?

The amount of times he slows our play with his poor passing (always just behind the player, too far wide of the player, to their weaker foot etc...) is unbelievable.

Sometimes I think some of you lot don't watch other clubs and have forgotten what a proper top class midfielder looks like, because it sure isn't Fellaini.

Reading back and seeing a lot of praise for Kagawa, surprising but maybe I missed some stuff from him. Thought he was barely in the game, only times when he's been brought in is when Fletch or Felli have forced a mistake and we've got them on the counter
Disagree. We always play through our touch line hugging right winger anyway for some reason whether it's young or Valencia with the left winger tucking in and generally seeing less on the ball. Kagawa has been good IMO. He's linked very well with mata, helped us retain possession well and control the game. Still needs that goal to get his confidence in front of goal back.

Kagawa has played well today, his link up play for counter attack football is fantastic. He has to play against Bayern, be just has to.
