Westminster Politics

I read the furlough part as being if they hadn’t got rid of him there wouldn’t be one.
I don’t know how that squares up with the timeline though
Yeah but by implication that insinuates Rishi was a key reason for it. When in reality it was a necessity every major nation has implemented in some form - it would have happened regardless of who was Chancellor.

Fair point. Maybe it wouldn’t have happened as quickly

Exactly! Although, there are still those that are drinking it all in and are assisting him in his pathetic attempts to stay relevant!
You don’t believe any of it? I don’t like Cummings, in fact I hate him for brexit but his accusations are against Boris and his buddies. Which makes me think it’s not all lies he’s telling. Whether it’s self serving or not is irrelevant at this point

I didn't say none of it will be true but he has made it hard to see the woods for the trees. I voted for Brexit and haven't changed my mind but I was never struck on him with his sulking about in the dark corridors of Westminster!

there’s no doubt in my mind that he’s telling a lot of truths - but when it’s interspersed with lies, exaggeration add self serving fabrication and revisionism, which bits do you believe?

Amazing how Brexiters don't believe Cummings now but believed every word five years ago without question.

What's Hancock's next job? Home Secretary, Chancellor, Foreign Secretary, next round of musical chairs when another numpty's position becomes untenable.

Suspect he will find a soft landing as a non exec on bupas board and and any other private health firm he can make some money from

I think he's finished from front bench politics for the foreseeable future

Or maybe even a marriage guidance counsellor.

You’re right he will be back in a year

I think it's disgusting that an elected official has, once again, been caught being a corrupt piece of shit on camera. I hope the government stamp out this corruption whistleblower once and for all.

The bits that you can verify independently which, for many of his claims, is possible to a reasonable extent.

Not especially. Much of it (initial herd immunity policy, care homes, PPE stock, nepotism and contracts awarded to entirely unsuitable firms, etc) is readily verifiable. His self aggrandising and selective confessional declerations are largely irrelevant in many regards.
However, it didn't really take Cummings to highlight this really. He's just added some anecdotal colour.

I don”t particularly care what Hancock has been doing with his hancock but the fact he was repeatedly using his gmail account rather than his official ministerial email stinks to high heaven. No doubt all the correspondence relating to the contracts handed out to his mates will be mysteriously unavailable if and when the official enquiry eventually takes place.

Maybe. Maybe not

Maybe. Maybe not
Ok...I have no idea what that means.
It's not hard to check.
On herd immunity, for instance, Valance alone has numerous on the record media statements in March last year.
We'll never know if the quotes Cummings has given are accurate of course. Whilst doubtless selective, they seem plausible.

plausible? Seems reasonable or probable but not certain. Okay, right.

In all honesty I don't care to join in on their battle of who's right and who's wrong. Members of Parliament and thier aids telling lies, I'm shocked! :wenger:

I just don't like Cummings and he is proving he wouldn't be my kind of fella to have a pint with, that's it really.

I'm sure you can tell, I'm not overly arsed about thier bickering and I'm certainly not shocked that Bojo, Cummings, Corbyn and the rest of them lead life's far from right and proper.

Yes, I mean the quotes that he's stating were made in meetings seem plausible and it seems likely the What'sapp screen shots aren't faked.

Most of his claims about major events and Government policies are, however, verifiable. These are the bits that matter, but we knew it all anyway.

How these politicians lead their lives isn't the point (and I'm not sure what particular impropriety in his private life Corbyn is guilty of) it's the decisions they take, policies they implement and how they misappropriate public funds to their mates. The fact that Cummings is an obvious odious cnut (and, unlike you, I am not a fan of Brexit and so there is many reasons for me to loathe him) doesn't alter the veracity of the aspects of his claims that can readily be backed up from other sources (often Government statements).

You need to find somebody that actually cares mate. I'm not meaning to sound harsh but I've already told you I don't care that much about it to engage in yet another pointless debate where nothing will be resolved.

As I said, I don't mean anything in this response other than I don't like the guy, maybe that's a little unfair as I don't actually know him but hey, we are all a little judgmental from time to time, right?

Sure. Happy to drop it, I'm merely pointing out, to your original point, that the meat of what he said is likely or certainly true.

I also, for what it's worth, dislike him intensely and I'm not defending the character of Dominic Cummings.

As an aside... The biggest trick pulled was getting people who are disengaged from politics to believe that you can lump Corbyn in with Bojo and Cummings.

First time I misread that as an offshore pub  :D

Don't like Sajid Javed
Yeah, putting the pro-business guy in charge of the NHS during a pandemic with rising infection rates isn't the best course of action.

Don't like Sajid Javed

Did you hear him. I have done this. I have analysed the data. Me, me, me.
The man must be superhuman to have done all of what he claims.
Or much more likely, he is saying what he thinks and not what he knows.
More bullsh1t politics.

Pathetic doesn't cover it. These people are so detached from reality that they don't think people witnessing this understand what is happening here. Truly disrespectful of the institution it's taking place in.
