Westminster Politics

Really confused by that drive from Downing Street to Parliament, it's literally a straight road and a 5 minute walk so why it was so long and had that many turns I don't get

Errr....do you actually expect Boris to walk anyway??
The guy hates walking!

Errrr......there are already strikes by train members as it is, with other unions planning on doing so this summer apparently, so not sure what that has to do with Starmer??

Labour are guaranteed to win the next election, no matter which irrelevant lickspittle that the Conservatives put up as leader.
Never underestimate labours ability to fek it up

I still hope that some Labour Lib, Green, SNP alliance around PR is the outcome

That seems most likey

gone today / tomorrow but will stay in position whilst a leadership election is run

This is what I was suggesting to a mate earlier. Whether its before or after the 1922 committee meets, Sir Graham Brady goes to see Boris and Boris resigns tomorrow. One thing a narcisist hates more than quitting: losing. If Graham Brady says the committee have agreed to change the rules, I think Boris will know its the end of the line.

I'm not really sure you can go and say "we will change the rules" without holding the vote to actually change the rules. I suppose you could have a vote on "would you change the rules if the PM doesn't resign".

Its simple really, when Boris is gone and the new knight in shining armour takes over as Tory PM, Starmer must not allow this person (and the RW press) to paint him as being soft on Unions, as the new PM will say 'look what you get with Labour'/ or Labour isn't working (one they used before).

This assumes the strikes spread and continue throughout the summer and into autumn or even winter, cannot see a Tory leader (whoever it is) taking a different stance than Boris... but he/she will tell you about it and not deny it!

Where are the by-elections??
If these people truly hated Boris, they would resign and force by-elections.

Boris' going for the greatest hits of nonsense retorts. Like shooting fish in a barrel for Starmer.

I wish the Labour lot would shut up when Boris speaks - it's funny to hear the silence from his bench

True but the silence was telling in the fact that Starmer managed to get his point across without being shouted at by baying Tories.

Also being asked whether there are any situations where he would resign by his own MP is hilarious.

Shame Patel missed this. Would have liked to see her smug face when Starmer brought up her bullying.

where is she?

What is the point of him hanging on like this? Is it just to buy his wife time to remove the golden wallpaper so they can take it with them?
