Westminster Politics

On election day, after Labour win, you're going to look foolish when Starmer pivots*.

*Into a fridge with his secretary, a pig's head and some strands of field wheat.
Labour taking an economic position contrary to the World Bank and the IMF and orthodox monetary theory is interesting.

the only reason he's still there is because he's threatened them all with an election if they try to boot him.

I seriously doubt Sunak gives a feck about anything MP's are saying now in terms of calling/timing the election.

Speed running a trade arrangement with India that financially benefits himself through his wife before he has to call the election. Though its looking unlikely now

Along with money they’ve now added time to list of things the UK hasn’t got

I like the idea that the allegations are of a historical nature, perhaps related to the emu war, tulip mania, or the intricacies of the feudal system. He does have a knighthood after all.

I really wanted to vote Labour in this GE but I think I might end up having to vote Green… these aren’t Labour policies

Got to be the only nation in the world who is against their flag  Embarrassing really.
I'm not against the Danish flag, but I do tend to associate the use of it in election material with nationalist pricks.

Also, from an outsider's perspective it appears Labour is just the Tories now. It's a shame the UK hasn't got a better democratic system.

Having lived in England for 30-odd years, the only time I haven't associated the St George flag or Union flag with the far right is when the Euros were hosted here in 1996. Everyone had flags flying from their cars, houses were decked in them and none of it felt remotely sinister. It was like the people had reclaimed their identity. But it was short-lived and the far right soon took it back.

The country is in a shambles but yes let’s moan about people respecting a flag.

In spain, the overuse of the spanish flag display is definitely associated with the far right

For years I've voted for the SNP but still opted in for some of my union contributions to go to Labour. It made sense to me - might as well support a party that will support worker's rights, surely? fecking pointless now, going to opt out on Monday.

The whole political spectrum in the west has shifted to the right

We are in pre second WWII conditions

Yeah and the SNP don't even try to pretend either anymore. Greens would be my vote, but their leaders are completely hopeless in government. Sturgeon really did paper over a lot of cracks in the Scottish political landscape.

Oh yeah, we're absolutely fecked. At this point I'm for anyone but the Tories, but we're still fecked.

When a party has nothing left, this is what they come up with.

"Not everyone that voted to leave the EU wanted to see Britain immediately descend into being an unaccountable single party state exploiting people’s worst prejudices to maintain power indefinitely. Some people just wanted bendy bananas."
