In the latest episode of the United Hour Podcast, Nik (@Rood) is joined by CEO Duncan Drasdo and Financial Director Andy Green from the Manchester United Supporters Trust for a special episode on all things behind the scenes at Old Trafford including a brief history of MUST and their aims today, views on INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe so far, and the Old Trafford regeneration.
We probably need to replace cavani and greenwood, which is a lot of work for one summer. Beyond that, from what we see in the press, RR has wanted a DM since he joined, which seems obvious to fans too. Beyond that I'm not sure what we need to do. Players like Maguire, shaw, bruno and rashford are obviously better than being shown so Ralf or the new coach needs to coach them to play better. Funny to say it but Sancho is one of the world's most creative players and should be like a new signing under better coaching. I personally also think Ralf will sign a right back, which is fine. City sign about 2 wing backs a year for 60m a pop, this is just the premiership today. I'd say he is more likely to go for a stop gap in that position than an expensive more though. Beyond that we have a good enough squad for top four, easily. Ole got 3 and 2 spots with worse players and we all know ole is not a top manager

Just seen on reddit there Owen Hargreves and Rio saying that under ferguson if we lost a match, the players were angry. If we lost two matches there was an inquest. Rooney then said that we lost some match under Mourinho and he was fuming. But when he went into training, Pogba and Lingard were dancing to music.

We really can't. We lose two CMs next summer and from there we don't have a single CM that offers creative output.
Not signing one would leave us in the same hole of not being able to break teams down.

Looking at the squad I genuinely think there are 20players to go and 10 signings to be made. Of course we arent doing that over one window, but this isnt what we do in the summer or spend..its what we need. Of coruse some of the signings could well come from our youth squad.

Henderson, Bailly, Tuanzabe, Pereira, VDB, Martial all want to go - good sell them even on cut price deals if wages are a problem, still £75m worth of sales there being conservative

Pretty much this would be a successful summer, I would maybe add David as my preferred striker option as he's pacy and has a good eye for goal. Also was apart of that title winning squad for Lille and could be available for around €60m
That would be a good start to the next 2/3 years rebuilding project.

More than signing anyone first and foremost I would like the club to get rid of the pathetic , half arsed , entitled , lazy bastards who have infested and infected this club. De Gea - Despite a 3 year bad spell he has been by far our best player the past decade which sums up the club at the moment sadly. 1st team
Henderson - Mightn't be happy as backup so we could probably get 30m for him and then sign a good quality bench warmer. Sell if you can for 30m
Full backs
Wan Bissaka - Not good enough, on the ball, to be at United. Cracking Crystal Palace full back though. Sell if you can for 25m
Dalot - He has what we lack throughout the squad, which is he's very good in possesion. Not a great defender obviously but I would persist for the moment. We are in far more need of talented midfielders than another right back, and most of our defensive problems stem from the fact that we can't bloody keep the ball. First team for now
Shaw - One of our few players that shows he can cut it against the best. First team
Telles - Decent on the ball but poor defensively and slow. Backup but look to promote a quicker going lad in the coming years
Centre backs
Varane - Top class. Everything a top team wants in a centre back. Quick. Technical capable. Strong. 1st team
Maguire - Not quick. Not technically gifted but he's the English centre back so try and use that to get some cash in. He's a good defender when he gets loads of help which is the faintest of praise. Cut our losses and move on. Sell if you can for 35m
Jones - Good lad so let him run down his contract. We won't be able to sell him anyway. Backup
Lindelof - Good enough to make up a strong pairing with Varane. A bit weak but he's a clever defender. 1st team for now
Tuanzebe - Bundles of potential. Get him back. Quick and strong. Blood into the 1st team
Mengi - Potential backup. Very quick which is critical for a top team. Backup
Bailly - Headbanger. Lots of ability but it hasn't worked due to injuries. Sell to make room for Tuanzebe and Mengi. You can't keep loaning them out forever. Eventually we have to give them a run. Sell for whatever we can get

I agree, you've covered what is a glaring problem for now CB/CDM/RW plus adding an additional Mid and Striker option, 5 players maximum allows for bedding in.
Rudigier being already in the prem could slot in immediately and the others can be rotated in and out to aid bedding in as we seen when Sancho came good.
Not too much disruption to the team as a whole with the Outgoings, in fact some of the ones leaving may be a blessing to get rid of.
It would be a good start, then we can look at GK & Fullbacks after that with the new manager, although if it's ETH and Mazraoui is available I wouldn't be against him coming as the 6th incoming as long as we get rid of a lot of the deadwood this summer.
Not unhappy with this outcome in theory but genuinely intrigued how you think that would happen while making any kind of profit let alone that much?
Johnstone is available on a free and I'd imagine Brighton would probably take £30m for Sanchez, they're a selling club and that's a decent wedge for a goalkeeper still even in today's market.
That said, I don't think you'd make much of a profit. You'd probably get a similar amount back for Henderson that you'd spend on Sanchez; De Gea would have a year left on his contract and even though his form has picked up, I can't see anybody wanting to pay a fee in addition to £375k p/w.
That's my thinking, I don't see us getting as much for Henderson as Brighton would want for Sanchez given Henderson has (rightly or wrongly) barely played for us this season. None of the clubs who could afford De Gea's wages would go near him so we'd be looking at having to give him away and part fund his wages. It was the £20-25m profit comment that got me.
Caqueret, Gouiri and Tchouameni would answer our prayers if we could get all of them. Any chance?

I think in order of priority:
- CM who can pass and receive the ball under pressure.
- An attacker who can occupy either RW or CF, my preference is an attacking wide player like Anthony.
- Another CM, someone who can go well both ways, basically a more consistent Pogba role.
- RB & LB. If I had to pick one over the other I’d go for a LB as I think Shaw is finished after this season.
- GK. some will disagree but I think De Gea is a massive problem. Personally I much preferred Hendo and his style of keeping but I suspect long term neither Is good enough. I’d like us to get a keeper with a real presence in net
- CB. Personally I think CB is well down the list of priorities. Maguire may yet regain his form under a better manager and in truth I think Varane and Lindelof are more than good enough especially once we get suitable midfielders in front of them.
That’s basically a whole new team, I just can’t see how we get even half of those positions without acquiring some absolute hidden gem bargains.

CDM and RW are the most pressing areas. Neves and Raphinha would not cost a fortune, Rice would.

These two would be great.
Definitely DM and ST. Probably also RW. Then it depends on whether we can get acceptable offers for whoever is considered deadwood. It might be that we keep certain players (i.e. Maguire) around til the January window in the hope they'll have a good World Cup and might be more attractive to prospective buying clubs.

Getting new players won't fix anything without a long or medium term plan as we have seen since SAF left, we get a new manager and new players but things don't change. They need to get a new manager and give him time to build a squad which works like a team and we fans need to have some patience. I know Man Utd was a big team and still is, but if we keep hiring new managers with short term goals it's going to take longer to get back to the top and play World Class football.
Great shouts, ironically th ebiggest name Tchouameni, not seen much of, but seen a fair bit of the other two, especially Giouri who have liekd since youth football.
I cant beleive we arent linked with at least one of the former two or both, see Giouri gettign small links wth other clubs. Funny enough I started a thread for him on here....not a single reply, which is telling. And both of them are amongst I expect are far cheaper than a lot of the options being mentioned. Caqueret reminds me a bit in terms of intelligence and movement into areas of Lampard and Giouri reminds me of a young Benzema without the aerial presence.......the French league is full of excelletn potential signings for me and bar Sulemana BEFORE he moved to Rennes Ive not seen us linedk with any of them, onyl one was Camavinga last summer and the general idea I got was people thought he was too young and in a weak league etc. Ligue 1 should be where we are lookign in my opinion, bar centr back and a second choice keeper I think there are brilliant options for evry problem postition we have at the moment

Looks a more physically mature player than the likes of Diallo, Pelistri etc. Maybe too raw for United. Anyone else other than the usual names we hear of (Rapinha, Diaby, Antony etc) who has something special?
