What stops a bad guy with a gun?

An easier question to answer is "What stops a bad guy getting a gun?"

Most countries know the answer to this question.

I can't imagine how arming more people will be the answer to stopping a bad guy with a gun

It just leads to more gun shots and confusion, imagine at a concert if 10% of people are armed and one person shoots a gun at someone or a bomb goes off, gunshots will be going off like no tomorrow and will lead to even more casualties

The argument I make when ammosexuals think a good guy with a gun in a dark theater could stop a massacre like the incident in Aurora.

"Well, the good guys would be trained properly!"

I then let them know about CQB and how the military trains repeatedly unlike the average citizen would, let alone the police that rarely train in those scenarios.
 
Very brave of this guy to jump in like that but suppose the scenario was a school and there's an armed guard at the gate. What's to stop the bad guy shooting the guard first and thereby getting an extra gun ? So rule one - do everything possible to reduce the number of people owning guns.
