Bringing in a world class winger first, then a striker the following year would be the way I would build the squad. I feel like it's the better option to maintain balance and build chemistry in the squad, which we finally seem to be doing.
Ideally Cavani stays fit from here on in, sticks around for one more year and rotates with Greenwood for the plan to work best.
Contracts don’t tell young players what role they will play in the team (or how many minutes) That would be an insane way to run a football club. At a stretch an established star might get some kind of commitment re minimal games but that would be unusual. Making the same commitment to an unproven 20 year old would be utter madness.
I’d rather splash out on a DM then sign either.. the double pivot is the main reason we’re so dog rough to watch. Getting a proper DM means we can play with 2 8s & not leave that gaping hole in the middle.

Also in terms of realism and ignoring that IMO Sancho is most suited to us and our current needs than any player around. Haaland and Grealish are both unrealistic price wise, with Grealish being a weird signing from a profile/our need perspective.

I'm not sure you would be looking for onsale value with Kane. It would be more like Van Persie, but more expensive and, I think, younger. You would have a peak striker, who is capable of creativity and tons of goals. He, along with Fernandes, are the best players in the Premier League. A flip of the coin who should get player of the year, to be honest.
You are looking at a player with 29 goals and 16 assists. He tops both goal and assist charts in the PL, which I think will be a first if he manages to keep it. Even Henry didn't manage that. If City do get Haaland, I actually think Kane is the only player who could actually raise our level enough.

With Rashford becoming the first player since Rooney to score 20 plus goals in consecutive seasons, Scholes said we need someone else in our team that can do that. He said we should go and get Haaland.
It’s all good Scholes saying that BUT it isn’t the same time as when Scholes played for us, we don’t have that pull anymore and we’re now just one of a number of options in England rather than THE option.
If Cavani stays and we sign Sancho then we’d have Greenwood, Martial and Cavani for one slot up front whilst having Sancho, Diallo and Pellestri on the right with Greenwood also there in a worst case scenario. We have zero balance up top so signing Sancho at a time when we may be able to get him for £50 million with Dortmund most likely missing out on CL football next season and needing more than ever to sell is clearly the way to go.
Going out and signing Haaland doesn’t change the fact that low block teams will still be a struggle to break down and Haaland isn’t the type of striker to just create out of nothing, Haaland and Mbappe remind me in a lot of ways of RVN and Henry and Haaland is much more RVN than Henry in that he needs chances created for him.
Signing Sancho gives us attacking options from both sides as well as Fernandes and Pogba through the middle which in turn creates far more space for let’s just say for arguments sake Greenwood up top who we know is already said to be the best finisher at the club, us just going out and buying a striker because they score lots of goals is serious tunnel vision as they still need the chances created and that’s where we struggle and Sancho isn’t so much a winger and much more a wide playmaker in a similar way Hazard is.
