Which of the Top 6 Teams Has the Strongest Squad for the 2017/2018 Season? Manchester United?

Shock fecking horror. Fans of team think they're good...

Also, we're 2nd i.e. better than everyone other than City.
We got knocked out of the CL in R16 - only two teams went further.
We're in the QF of the FA Cup - alongside Tottenham and Chelsea.

So, I'd say this still shows that our squad is still 2nd best in the country.

Obviously now sitting with all the answers City have the strongest squad. Speaks for itself!

However excluding results and looking to next season then Spurs have a very strong outfit. The only department they need to strengthen would be a decent back-up for Kane imo. With the experience they’ve gained this season, the relatively low age of the group and the balance they have, they will be a force to be reckoned with next season. That is if Poch can keep the vultures away, which I think he will.

They’ve got the best striker in the PL by far and he’s only 24.

Defenders: (experience and youth)

Sanchez (21), Aurier (25), Alderweireld (29), Vertongen (30), Rose (27), Davies(24)

A well balanced midfield:

Dembele (30)
Son (25)
Dier (24)
Ali (21)
Wanyama (26)
Eriksen (26)

On top of this good fringe players such as: Moura, Lamela, Trippier, Winks, Sissoko etc.

Good shout but in terms of keeping the sharks at bay( whatever that means) it’s your coach you need to be most concerned about.

Kane, won’t stay there forever if you’re not winning trophies. Let’s face it, he’s not Matt Le Tissier with blind loyalty to one club

Spurs almost quietly improved their squad in adding more depth. At this stage last season I would have said that was a problem for them, good starting line up, very vulnerable to injuries and loss of form.

What's your take now?

Pep has done a very good job of getting his group to play at a high level consistently. We are on pace for an 80 something point finish which is almost always either league winning or league contending, but there’s little anyone can do if Pep is going to finish well over 100 points.

Our squad is excellent its just not quite kicking into full pelt. The only area where we really lack players who can compete in the prem is central midfield and at full back. We desperately need at least one more central midfielder and a new right back, possibly a left back as Shaw dosent arms to be in Jose's good books despite playing really well when given the opportunity.

We have an absolute wealth in left wingers and attacking midfielders but hardly anyone capable of playing on the right which is bizarre. Probably would have better having a punt at Mahrez rather than Sanchez with hindsight just for the balance in the squad.

You haven't adapted to the new reality yet. Spurs finished on what, 86 points last season? Didn't even come close to challenging chelsea

The new reality is 90+ points for the winner are now the norm, not the exception

Its not the new reality. It just happens to be a one off performance of one club. The past five league wins have averaged in the mid 80s or so.

Will take a while before people realise this. Times have changed, the quality gap at the top means less upsets and therefore winning against rivals is more key than ever.

Yeah, 80+ pts is very good, IMO. Going from 69 to, say, 84 pts is real progress.

It isn't. You'll see. City will finish above 90 points next season, and the next as well.

Who knows what will happen in the future. Pep could leave and they could be set back a level or two.
