In a well-ordered universe...
So if we win the next 10 games, Moyes should still go? Don't be daft.
Daft to even suggest that.

I think most people would not want United to lose a match even if they wanted Moyes out. It's just against what you what your club to do.
I don't think Moyes is the right man for United but I certainly don't want United to lose tomorrow and will be supporting them in the same way and hoping for a resounding win. When you actively want the team to lose you are not supporting the club. It's one of the reasons why opposition to Glazer was difficult as more miltant elements of the opposition had the sentiment they wanted United to lose to get him out. It put people's back up who were also anti Glazer.
I have always been brought up with the attitude you support the team on match day irregardless and opinions on players and management are kept for the pub either before or after the game. I suppose Internet forums are just modern extension of that. It's been 20 plus years of good times with Fergie but I think most of the match going fans would have the same attitude today. Hence the unequivocal support for Moyes at games.
I also think after all the years of taking the piss out of the fickleness of fans like City in the 90's for the Swales/Manager out stuff and teams like Chelsea more recently it will be a cold day in hell before you hear "Moyes out" chants at Old Trafford or at the the least things would have to be significantly worse than 7th place. That and Fergie's unequivocal backing of him.
For those reasons, I don't think anyone should be criticised for being vocal of their lack of faith in him as a manager on a forum like this or venting after some of the frustrations of this season. I tend not to post after games like the City thrashing, the Sunderland performance at O.T., WBA, Swansea in the cup or the Fulham game, but if I did I would wager I would not be anywhere near as reasoned as I would normally be.
We still have a chance of getting that 4th place. I know Liverpool fans are still nervous of United.
Why do we have to be so quick to give up?
I'm Moyes' biggest critic on here (probably, there's a lot)
However, I'd love nothing more then to be proved wrong by the man. I'd even spend an evening in the company of Phil Neville. That's how badly I want him to turn it around
Idea for another anti-Moyes thread, who's the biggest critic on here, I think it's Revan, you or me vying for that for now.
Surely the magic elf guy has you all beat?
In the sad twisted world we live in, yes, I hope Moyes persists with Young, Valencia, Cleverely and Welbeck and his ridiculous crossing tactic and see how far we get against a team that has played quick, direct, football, because it obviously worked against over the weekend against a team at the bottom of the table, with no goals scored in their previous 4 games.
While I am somewhat happy we managed to take the lead over the weekend, i'm also happy we didn't win, because if we managed to do that, playing like we did, it would only encourage Moyes / Round and Neville to think that it actually worked.
Now before you all jump on me and ultimately criticism me into oblivion, can any of you honestly say that you want to continue watching us play in hoof ball for the rest of this season, for all of next season - for as long as Moyes is here?
Yes they do but going to the game and wanting the team to lose does not compute, I am sorry.I can understand getting home and thinking there may be a silver lining after seeing the team lose as I have done but setting out for the game hoping for a defeat and taking pleasure in seeing the ball go in our net is perverse. It may end in Moyes losing his job but it may result in players getting tired and leaving for pastures new.All in all every defeat is damaging for this club and now as much as ever.Surely most matchgoers would want an entertaining United?

Never, i don't like moyes, but he is doing the job that could be done years ago.
Cutting dead wood like rio, vidic, nani, evra, anderson etc
Agreed with keano
Even if a defeat guaranteed his sacking, the season is gone. Getting someone in now isn't going to get us fourth and into the CL next season, unless there is a manager available with enough tactical nous that can win us the CL but that's still going to require a great deal of luck too. For all Moyes deserves to be sacked at this point, it can wait until the summer.
But getting someone in would mean he has 1/2 a season to go to iron things out and sort the mess, meaning he can go next season with a fresh start from the get go.
If we sack him next season, then next season will be year 0 all over again and it'll waste tremendous resources (financial wise and point wise), not to mention that some damage will be irrepairable (star players leaving, confidence shattered, etc)
Professional game is played a lot in the mind. A few good results could easily bring the old swagger and results back.
He wont be sacked immediately even if we lose against Arsenal because we still have a Champions League match, and anyone good is not going to be available now. The best thing right now is to ride it out until the end of the season, sack him immediately after that and sign a replacement early. Not that bullshit about only start to work on July. Get him early, paid the previous club to release him early if that's what it take. But getting someone in would mean he has 1/2 a season to go to iron things out and sort the mess, meaning he can go next season with a fresh start from the get go.

A loss against Arsenal would be another day at the office. A win against them at Emirates would actually be quite a shock.would a loss really get moyes the sack???? I highly doubt it , he is here (unfortunately) for the long haul
Arsenal are a team we have a big psychological advantage over. Despite how things are going I feel quietly confident about tonight.A loss against Arsenal would be another day at the office. A win against them at Emirates would actually be quite a shock.

You're not actually thatbad....severly under-confident, yes. but Fergie had AW's number in the last few meetings between us, and most of your first team has played and excelled against us in the past.
If we don't come out all guns blazing, I wouldn't be surprised if you nicked this.
Neither would I. But we really are that bad, or at least playing that bad. You're not actually thatbad....severly under-confident, yes. but Fergie had AW's number in the last few meetings between us, and most of your first team has played and excelled against us in the past.

Fcuk me, I would have thought most oppo fans would want Moyes to run us into the ground... fair enough. As a neutral - I hope you do get spanked - just to get rid of Moyes. If you want to become competitive again - get a new manager. Yes he might bring in a load of players in the Summer, but he should be getting more out of your current players, and he is not adventurous enough for you guys - too negative. You need to write this season off and prepare for the next, start playing your youngsters in their best positions too.
Pimpy easily wins. I have yet to make an anti-Moyes thread though I can't help myself to stop criticizing him.Idea for another anti-Moyes thread, who's the biggest critic on here, I think it's Revan, you or me vying for that for now.
Nope. He hasn't won a single away game against United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in around 50 games.Has Moyes even ever won at Arsenal?
