Who would you have as our new manager

Two of our successful managers:

1) Alexander Matthew Busby
2) Alexander Chapman Ferguson

So, somebody named Alexander. Or maybe just change Moyes's first name.

I kind of doubt we will go away from British managers. In fact I dont think we have ever had a non british manager in our history, which is why I think we went for Moyes above otehrs who had a better record. (even though I think we should have done so in the summer but thats for another time)
I think the most important thing is to get away from British managers. Let's be honest, Rodgers aside, they're not very forward thinking and the standard is a bit poor compared to the foreign counterparts. I think it's time united had a foreign manager because they're clearly better than any British alternative.

The likes of Klopp, Pep and Mourinho would be 1st choice but none of them are available.

So of the ones we could realistically get, Simeone, Ancelotti, etc.

The likes of Ole need to prove themselves first.

All of that said, Moyes will be here start of next season unless things go even more fecked up.
Ancelotti is a realistic target?

Seeing as he moves clubs frequently and Madrid don't hold on to their managers for very long, he would be a realistic target.

Preferably a non-British with new ideas and modern gameplay.

Also, do you think selecting a British manager makes us less inclined to fire him in case results go south?

Anything but a British

Rodgers is doing okay...

I don't really see any outstanding managerial candidates right now. I don't think Klopp, Simeone, Pep, Mourinho, Wenger, Pelligrini, or Ancelotti are viable options and those are the stand out managers that I'd be looking at if I were a chairman. I've seen people say Martinez, I'd probably like that to happen because it would be hilarious. I think your best option is sticking with Moyes for another season.

Simeone will definitely be the hottest ascending manager this summer, especially if Atletico win La Liga. The sugar daddy owners will be all over him.

Who? Most of the big clubs changed managers this year and I don't think any will be moving on.

We should go for Pulis. Just to see the reactions.

Martinez would be a funnier hire than Moyes.
He's been quality this season. And his teams entertain. Not sure whether he's right for us but he's got some great qualities based on what we've seen this season.

Can't go wrong with Scottish Alexander McLeish

Also, Martinez would be no more funny a hire than Rodgers. There's nothing between the two based on what we've seen so far.

Nor will Simeone after having built a CL and LaLiga contending side at Atletico. Pellegrini, Mourinho, and Larry White shouldn't be leaving, but Ranieri might. Not the best job for Simeone imo.

There's no denying that. I just think you need to give Martinez another season at Everton before assessing whether he can take another step up. People were championing Laudrup last season and earlier this season saying he was miles better than Brendan for Swansea, but I'd be shocked if people still thought that.

Aye, I don't see Simeone leaving either and I'll be happy to see him stay. I think he'll eventually get the Barcelona job though.

Fair enough but I think we might soon find ourselves in to position where we need to get someone new. And you have to go with the best available, and if after talking to someone like pochettino (or Martinez or whoever) we feel he's got what it takes why not. I never was against Moyes because of the trophies thing. I just never saw the potential for a top manager. You hired Rodgers based in what..one good season with Swansea? Its nothing compared to what Moyes has done at Everton. It's as much about potential as achievements unless you're bayern or chelse an you're getting pep or mourinho.

Carlos Queiroz until the seasons end, then Klopp.
I'd jizz in my pants if we got klopp. I'd actually rather have him than mourinho or pep. Miles more exiting than any juan mata's or cache fabregas'.

If Moyes did get sacked how much of a say would youse want Ferguson to have in picking a new manager? His last three candidates (Moyes, MoN and Sven) haven't exactly been brilliant choices.

Rodgers did a good job at Swansea though. Martinez isn't top club material.
So why is Rodgers top club material but not Martinez? Rodgers had one good season with Swansea. Loads of mangers have had one good season.

None. I don't see him going for a progressive choice ever. So keep as far away from that particular decision making as possible.

I think if Moyes were to be sacked Ferguson would distance himself fom the selection process given his feelings on premature managerial sackings. I also believe he would refuse to step in if the gimps were to can Moyes.

Martinez has had half a good season so far. I'd wait for at least the end of the season to say he's even close to being as good as Rodgers, which might still good enough for us.

Martinez definitely could be.

Yep, but we had a set criteria that we wanted a young, media friendly manager, who plays good football. With Klopp out of the picture our options were pretty limited. It was a choice of AvB, Martinez, Lambert or Rodgers. At the time most of our fan base did t want Rodgers either. I'm not sure how yours would react if you grabbed another manager from a smaller club.

I hope that's how he reacts to the situation.

Indeed. I love this quote, tells you all you need to know.

“I show my team very often Barcelona but not the way they play. Just the way they celebrate goals. Goal no 5768 in the last few weeks and they go ‘Yeeeess’ like they never scored a goal. This is what I love about football. That’s what you have to feel all the time. Until you die. And then everything is OK.”
Klopp.

He's well on his way to bettering or at the least matching Rodgers season with Swansea. And he had already, by all accounts, laid a foundation for swansea's style of play. Also he did pretty well to keep Swansea in the premier league as long as he did, and tried to make them as entertaining as he could.

I don't see much if a different personally.

I said Ole knowing Mourinho and Pep weren't coming as well as Klopp or Simeone. We wanted a young(ish) manager who would stay at the club for a long time.
if OGS keeps Cardiff up he's a miracle worker and should be appointed during the pitch raid in Wales.
