Who would you have as our new manager

I think we'd struggle to persuade either Klopp or Conte, but one of them.

Garcia and Simeone are probably good options too (although again, with little prospect of leaving).

I think we could get anyone if the supposed £150m transfer kitty is true. The problem is if we let Moyes waste the money and it stays the same then we'd find it hard to attract top managers.

It's not like Beckham is in anyway linked to us any more (except being a club legend).

Anyway, this "United Way" (TM) thing.

Let's appoint Mourinho...

No, we can't do that, he once poked some guy in the eye during a match.

What of Ryan Giggs? He's been poking his brother's wife for years.

Let's appoint him player-coach.

Cheers, I needed a proper laugh.

This is all I have to say:

"Holland manager Louis Van Gaal says he wants to work in the Premier League and will be open to offers once the 2014 World Cup in Brazil is over."

No matter who's going to replace Moyes is going to "lose the players" if/when the going gets tough. We have some cowards running away from responsibility, safe in the knowledge the manager is going to be held responsible.

Van Gaal. Wins trophies. His teams play better than anything we've produced since 2009. Would be a good choice for the next 3-5 years whilst we regroup.

no manager has to be "available". right now being the manage of this club with our resources, our fans, our history and worldwide reputation is still the pinnacle of a managers career amongst a few other top european jobs.

if we come calling with the right amount of money and assurances re transfer money available very few would say no, id go so far as to say even mourinho would think of jumping ship, i think hed love being the sensational story and centre of attention. also there could be no claims that he just carried on fergusons success, doing a job with this united would be his ultimate ego massage.

we need top class and nothing else, if moyes does leave. mourinho, klopp, simeone, ancellotti, guardiola, bielsa possibly van gaal.

youre 100% right. dont expect people to agree though.

Anyone of Klopp, Joachim Low, Roberto Martinez or Pochettino would do me.......Van Gaal is an outstanding tactician but not sure if his personality would suit Utd but I would take him in a heartbeat over Moyes now.

Pochettino is the onlu manager I can think of that we could have realistically by the start of this summer if we wanted him...getting any of the other managers mentioned would be a long stressful process or would mean waiting till the end of the world cup which could mean missing out on our main targets..

Pochettino it is

It's reached the point where I think any change would be good enough till the end of the season.

A caf consortium of 20 posters would do a better job than this clown.

Please... I just hope it's not some caretaker / short term manager.

I'd rather we go slow and really appoint someone for long term. Get some gentlement agreement if possible and while waiting just grab a caretaker with 4th as minimum,

There's no point appointing managers just for the sake of it. We need to back the next manager all the way (and hopefully not another perennial midtable like Moyes)

If It's up to me, I'd probably lap Mourinho up, and claim it was a mistake, and ask him to manage us

Van gaal's Ajax is actually a very total football attacking team.

But I seriously doubt we have the player necessary to play like that. He had a Young Seedorf, Litmanen, Overmars, Ronald De Boer pulling strings, while we have Young, Valencia and Nani.

It's interesting to see what he can come up with the current batch of players though

Frank De Boer, Klopp, Van Gaal, Simeone.

No fecking around, Just throw shit loads of money on someone good.

Brilliant idea. Could you try to convince the Glazers to throw money at him so that he leaves the German nationalteam before the worldcup? Heynckes instead of him might give us a chance of winning

Yep!

Bloody hell, even when Newcastle play, they see their manager headbutting opposition players.
Our players see our manager, wearing the expression of a man who just caught his dog pissing on the carpet.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: Proper laughing at that

Id take Tim Sherwood at this point, yesterday was breaking point for me.

The only one good enough for Man Utd is Jose Mourinho.

Every time I read this or think about it I want to cry, last Summer everything was set for us to appoint the Special One to replace the best manager ever... :(

How many of you reckon that United would have been relegated this season if you, yourself, was the manager?

If any of you think not, it puts it into perspective just how many managers could probably do better than a mid-table finish.

It makes you want to round up everyone of those twats who said Mourinho would "only" give success for 3-4 years and smack them with a big stick.
As if Moyes was going to provide 15years worth.

I'm convinced I'd have us better than 7th.

I'm convinced I'd have us better than 7th.

People make out like football managers need to be masterminds. Look at the general IQ in the football world, most of the people in it are barely sapient. I'm convinced most fairly smart people could do a decent job of it.

The half brained man is king in a world of feckin idiots.

I think I'd at least manage to not play Smalling and Valencia on the same flank repeatedly.

Am I bollocks telling Vidic he's dropped though.

Pep
Klopp
Hiddink
Simeone
Heynckes
Mou
Van Gaal
Conte

About 5-6 of those aren't going to happen, so Van Gaal the most likely boss for a interim period.

You forgot Ancelotti.

Pretty much though. We're one of the three or four most attractive clubs on the planet, where even a massively underperforming manager is given a ridiculous amount of support. Oh, and the new guy will also be given a massive budget to work with. All things considered it'd be hard to see that many top managers turning us down.

We'd be doing better for my money. I'd have appointed a competent assistant manager and let him run the team.

There is a United fan that runs the local convenience store and we often talk about United, but his English is very limited.
He wants Moyes out like most Japanese because Kagawa hardly plays.
He said today that Moyes should be replaced. I asked him who should replace him and he said Funashi would do better.

This is Funashi.

If we were to get a new manager in the summer, the only ones that would definitely not be available are Klopp, Pep and Mourinho.

ancelotti's availability depends on what Real wins this season.

Agreed, the Chelsea masseur will do better at this stage...

Definitely.

Say Moyes goes and the staff he has appointed- would anyone want Gary Neville involved at all? Without sounding like a Spurs supporting tosser who wanted Hoddle because he sounded good on telly i think he should be involved somehow.

If being a United coach was his only job, sure. None of the Sky pundit bollocks causing a conflict of interest.
