Well that was a waste of a half for us. We've done very little of worth while Wigan have outplayed us. Their appetite, urgency and desire are way beyond anything we've shown so far.
Need a total improvement in the 2nd half. It's been abysmal. Maybe Nani can give us some spark?

Our attitude sucks. Sitting back inviting Wigan to 18 yard box. It's fortunate they aren't that good.
I don't like that fact that WE are not imposing OUR play on Wigan - hopefully we can only get better, else a shock is a distinct possibility.

Not really, we'd completely dominate the game but Brad Freidel would put in one of his mega performances.

We've been trotting around like we're trying to save energy. Wigan are doing well to press us with high tempo, which every team hates but especially us.
The problem is almost no one can keep it up all game, so we tend to score late for that reason among others. And Giggs is one of the best at engineering a late goal, so I can see him staying on, especially without Scholes on the bench.

Giggs needs to hold back, as soon as we get the ball he just goes forward and doesn't come back. Evra needs to wake up and I think young needs to keep wide a bit more, he keeps cutting in but the space is out wide.
Hopefully we can start fresh in the second half, we need to keep the ball and kill the crowd etc for a bit.

Worst half of football I've seen from us this year I think and we've had some shockers in Europe. But the positive is that we really can't sink any lower in terms of performance in the second half.

Giggs frustrated with that stupid backheel he did inside the penalty box.We're making Wigan look like Barcelona with all that possession.However I've seen signs of them getting tired, we need to pass the ball better and create more movement.

Wigan have gone about that first half like a house on fire. They're running and chasing down is non-stop. I don't think SAF will have prepared us for that, nor would the players have been expecting it.
They'll start the second half in much the same manner... at about 60-70 minutes, they will start to tire, and then we can take the game to them.
If we can ride out the first 20 minutes of this half of football, I can see us knicking this by 1 or 2 goals.

Might aswell put Cleverley and Pogba on and have 4 centre midfielders... See if we can see some football then! Shocking!!
Defence dropping too deep, full backs picking up but look unsure wingers being forced back into full back positions. Chico struggling on scraps and Giggs and Carrick struggling to press as not their forte. Wigan haved played us well but if we stay tight and alert at set pieces I fancy our quality edging it. Ps Linesman getting it tight but was the correct decision imo.

Hernandez doesn't deserve to be subbed but at this rate he'll never get in the game cos the team simply aint working. Jones does deserve to be subbed but I'd rather keep him on than risk losing Evans to a red card, shich we're running the risk of because Jones is being beaten ass up on the right time and time again and Evans is being got at constantly. Giggs also deserves to be subbed but Scholes aint on the bench and I dont think we can risk Pogba and increasingly it seems we need 3 in the middle. So...
The thing is Martinez hasn't tailored his tactics just for us, he's done this for the last 9-10 games which has coincided with their good run of form. We need to get the wingers in the game and keep the ball.

How bloody stupid was that backheel, Welbeck done something daft like that last week against Blackburn and Fergie went mental. Wigan are not a good side, but we haven't done anything to even look like scoring.

That was the worst half of football we've played in the league since newcastle I think. Being completely dominated, we just hoof it up whenever we get it. Valencia's hardly has a touch, giggs though has been terrible. I love the guy but he is way off form. Get cleverley on for him, and nani on for young. If it still doesn't work take off Hernandez for welbeck. We'll win it in the second half hopefully, it really could not have been much worse to getting dominated by wigan embarrassing.

Major brain fart. All Giggsy had to do was take a touch and shoot. He's left footed and 6 yards out. What the hell was he thinking? Most experienced player out there...
Looking on the bright side, they haven't scored. Even with their inevitable indignation, from their perspective it must be worrying to have that must possession but not a matching goal threat. So, if we play to anything like our ability in the 2nd half, things could be very different.
