Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Manchester United

great defence!

I hope Berba has a stormer, he better or some caftards will be calling for him. Gibson to have about 20 shots and score 1

HOLY CRAP BALLS!!

Gibson in the middle ahead of Fleatcher is the only position you would really question, but with Milan in midweek (and Carrick suspended) it is the right move from Fergie. Will be interesting to see how Gibson does, cause he is in contention for the game vs Milan. Though I reckon Park could start in the middle in that game, to keep on Pirlo's toes.

More surprised to see Scholes playing today, would have expected him to be saved for Milan.

Interested in seeing how Nani and Valencia play together, they've not had a chance together since they've both hit peak form so this could be something great.

Always knew Rooney was going to get a rest, he didn't get his full rest in the CC final because of Owen's injury so he was going to be rested in the next.

They did against Portsmouth but that was in a 4-4-2. Nani got an assist from an own goal and Valencia had a relatively poor game IIRC.

I wish Rooney was on the bench for Rafael/Neville. Even if we're not a one man team, knowing Rooney isn't even on the bench today will give Wolves a little confidence. Having him on the bench even if he couldn't come on wouldn't give us that helpless look if we go 1-0 down.

I'm suprised Park isn't playing, his form is at its peak at this moment.

But still thats a team that can easily get a result.

Lets do these cnuts !!

p.s Our best back four ALL playing.

Capello has no connection with United, he is free to play whoever he likes for as long as he likes. Rooney said he was fit to play, so Capello had every right to play him for 90 minutes.

he had every right, but he should have exercised some man management skills and not have played a player carrying an injury for basically the entire game on a crap pitch.

Best possible line-up given the absence of Rooney and Owen, apart from Gibson over Fletcher. Glad to see Nani back, let's see if he can do a job on the left...

with no international football, he would be the most rested of the players, so its not that massive a call imo. He has shown over recent weeks that he can handle 2/3 games in quick enough succession.

Ah but I think Valencia only hit top form after that game, it started when he came off the bench against Milan.

Hopefully Nani hasn't suffered too much from missing a couple of games.

fecking hell, Jon Champion does my head in. His constant nodding of the head to the camera is so cringe inducing.

Great, Chris fecking waddle commentating, i give it 3 minutes before he spouts "no cutting edge without Rooney" "ever since Ronaldo left theyve lacked that special player in the final third" if that was Ronaldo that would be a goal" etc..

Mute for this game me thinks.

Hopefully Nani and Valencia will be putting such quality into the box that Berbatov wont have a choice but to score today.

bit surprised scholes starts this
fletch did play an international tho
scholes is almost a certainty to get substituted early in the second half

Hopefully!

I've a feeling he'll get his goal today.

No offense mate but I really dont see the point in starting Berba alone upfront against a bottom of the table team. We definitely need either or both Macheda and Diouf to warm up for the rest of the season - we might as well start with this game.

What did i tell you? ;)

Should have started Diouf you feel, don't think Berbatov on his own can occupy a decent defence. We'll see how he does though.

If he doesnt, hopefully he'll make one for Valencia or Gibson.

Sadly even in his best form this season Nani hasn't been a goal threat. At least that means there's even better yet to come from him than his recent run in the future once he locates his shooting boots.

Hopefully he'll be on crack like in the final and carry the same "for the team" attitude he displayed that day. If he does that he could probably do a good job in the middle of a front 3. But he needs to work hard.

I don't understand this theory. He does it often enough for Bulgaria and is actually pretty fecking good at it. It all depends on the midfield providing him with support and not leaving him isolated.

Gibson played a good game against Wolves at OT if I recall right.. Maybe that is why he starts tonight.. He doesn't improve if he is only used as a sub..

Great lineup - especially seeing our back-four makes me happy (reminds me of 2008).

I just hope Berba does well as a lone striker.

Good thing we're playing against the 5th worst defence in the league then I guess...

Im liking the team.

Berbatov should stay sharp up front and I expect him to score today. As long as that defence stays solid and we attack with pace from the wings we should get all 3 points. Surely we can do without Rooney for this match.
