Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Manchester United

feck sake, might miss my first game in ages unless the cruise have footy on telly.

i think we will pay a strong team, hope its 442. Would like it if Anderson starts.

Scholes will start with Carrick for this I think. Simply because Scholes still needs games to find his form and might be integral to the Derby.

Starting line up

VDS
Rafael, Smalling, Vida, Evra
Nani, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs
Rooney, Berbatov

Bench: Lindengaard, Evans, O'Shea, Chicha, Owen, Anderson, Obertan.

I have Rio being rested so he is available for the Derby and not risk him aggravating the groin injury.

How many times was Rio injuried this season?

Some of you lads are freaky with that resting our players or giving them a break.

It's one week before Manchester derby! One week!

Resting people for a game that's a week later? feck that noise, they're G-damn athletes, get them on the pitch and get the game won.

van der Sarge

Rafael is cool, but crude (gimmie a break!)
Rio
Vidic
Evra

Nani
Carrick
Scholes
Giggs

Rooney
Berbatov

SUBS:
Lindegaard, O'Shea, Smalling, Fletcher, Anderson, Owen, Hernandez

Hehe, nicely.

He's also been rested this season before some of the tougher fixtures though. Fergie has been managing him more this season in this manner. Just think he'll do the same again.

That is true but God forbid he should pull his groin or his hamstring. One week is not exactly enough to sometimes recover even if it a small injury. Plus it is better for Smalling or Evans to play as they will improve by getting match practice.

Ya, play our strongest team, get the three points and move on to the derby high in confidence and fresh after a 7 day break.

There's international friendlies midweek I think so only those not involved will get a nice break.

Rest players for what? Make them play the whole game and then pick up "injuries" before the internationals.

What's the bet on Terry getting "injured" this weekend?

Team news: "Rafael should be OK. He has trained. There are no further injuries. With Fletcher, we'll assess him today. His eye closed (against Villa), so he couldn't see properly. But I'm sure he'll be OK."

There was some drama at the press conference earlier this morning. A cameraman fainted right at the end of Sir Alex's press briefing. A few journos looked on a little bit stunned, but Sir Alex took charge of the situation, told the guy to just rest and sit down and then the boss called the club doctor. Thankfully, he seemed OK after being attended to by United's medical team. Superman Sir Alex... (BH)

Anyone worried about a repeat of 2004. Werent we 5 points clear at the top of the table?

Played Wolves who were like now at the bottom of the table. Lost 1-0

Has Rio skipped another drugs test?

vds, Evra, Smalling, Scholes, Giggs, Berbatov, Park not in the internationals.

Rafael and Carrick (maybe) in the squads but surely wont get a full 90.

Decent lineup of fresh players there.

Has Rio skipped another drugs test?

Exactly. I reckon we would've won the league if we had Ferdinand.

I reckon we're gonna get double figures against Wolves tomorrow

EDIT - feck, just realised this was away. Anyway, I think the next lesser home team we come up against is going to get absolultely spanked by us. We're due a big win.

Any idea if Hernandez, Anderson and Rafael are going to be travelling halfway across the world?

No, not that worried. Not because I'm complacent or anything, it's just that was 7 years ago. Wolves do play some good football though, despite their position in the league table. They'll have the crowd behind them and it could be tough enough for us.

Despite our away form, we'd obviously be favourites for the match later and hopefully we can get all 3 points.

Wolves are a decent team and are not to be underestimated at home. Especially when you consider our away form this season.

Fergie, if you can see this, please play 442.

Rafael and Anderson are in Brazil squad for match with France in Paris and Hernandez travels to USA to play against Bosnia in Atlanta.

I presume there'll be a minute's silence today like Pompey last year?

very funny... no one above this post sees Chica in the start 11. I do.

I would doubt it. Rooney's hit some form and I don't think SAF would want to stagnate that kind of fluency he's showing, and I can't really see him ousting Berba at the minute either.

We can't take Wolves for granted. Relegation dog-fighters generally pull out massive upsets along the way.

Love it, and the bolded part is the God honest truth!

Thanks for sharing the story :)
