I remember the announcement of the Labour leadership results. The results were told to the candidates half an hour before the announcement, and as they took their seats after having been told who the winner was, David Miliband was smiling and Ed Miliband looked glum as feck. Ed of course won. You can't read too much into facial expressions.
 
i would like to be happy for any country getting the world cup but we all know that if its russia and qatar that it wasnt about the benefit of the game it was about the green
 
England should boycott Fifa... not like we achieve anything by going to world cups anyway, although Mockers would struggle to have any material to write about.

If England is out, then for totally mercenary reasons, I hope Russia wins. Qatar winning depends on all three CONMEBOL voters sticking with them on the vote trade. If Spain loses, they might decide it's in their interests to have a Cup in North America rather than the other side of the world.

Of course if they've all just been flat-out bribed by Qatar, this may all be moot.
