World Cup 2018 Qualifiers

Why are Spain insisting on playing without a striker when they have two good forwards available these days in Asensio and Morata? It kind of made sense in 2012 when Torres was out of form and their midfielders were all great but it is strange now (I know they are winning).

Agreed. Limits them a bit in terms of counter attacking opportunities, someone like Morata would have them stronger and would and variety, without losing to much on control aspect imo.

O lord, wouldst thou favour this humble peasant, and produce a gif of that lovely moment where he overcame someone holding him back, and then did that wonderful chipped through pass?
know the minute ?

After Del Bosque, it had to be Lopetgui - his NT teams have consistently played high level football. And just having better talent alone does not translate to success, coaching & tactics is all too often written off as key but it is just that

He came to Porto with a big reputation after doing great with Spain's U21 but he turned Porto into pretty much Van Gaal's United and the fans hated him. He was a bit of a clown with the press on top of it too. I'm liking this spanish team though, they're my favourites to win the World Cup

Ireland don't have a single player who would make the squad of players Spain could pick after their first squad.

I remember his start going well there though but never followed after

This is positional play at best.
