Feel bad for Scotland but that is a great result for us Irish. Any sort of win in Cardiff gets us at least a playoff.

Yes, who just gives me reason that we rely on the individual quality of 1/2 players to win matches with medium quality teams, 3 years of Santos and no development on the way we play with or without the ball, I wonder what they do on the training sessions.

Im with you on this. the sad reality is that Scotland simply dont have the players anymore. There was a time when all the big clubs had Scottish starters or important players in their line ups. Today the majority of Scottish internationals are in lower divisions or lesser teams. The easy thing is to simply blame the Manager.

We're not great, but we're not that bad a side. Griffiths is a very good striker. Armstrong's a good midfielder. Tierney and Robertson are both talented full-backs, and Tierney's likely going to keep improving.

I think the frustration comes more from the fact that we ultimately always fail in qualification. Naturally we know we're not the best side out there and that we're not going to make every tournament, but with better management and better organisation plenty of similarly average sides have managed to make international tournaments in recent years. We'll have gone 22 years without making one on the off-chance we qualify for 2020. Otherwise we'll be looking at a quarter of a century.

The reason blame's placed upon Strachan and previous managers is because he's made a ton of mistakes while in charge. His style of play often goes quite defensive and attempts to be risk-averse, even though our central defenders are quite poor and thus ensure we're not very good at playing defensively. Griffiths is probably our best player but has only recently properly cemented his place as our main man up top; for a long time he was having to compete with the likes of Fletcher and Martin in spite of the fact he's better than both.

I don't think anyone's ever expected Strachan to work wonders, but he's still not done a good job when all's said and done, and deserves to be sacked.
