World Cup Qualifiers | October 2017 | Play off draw on Tuesday

We've played worse than this recently.

Hey atleast you've seen your team in an international tourney in your lifetime. I'll consider myself lucky if my country does that in my lifetime.

Most likely Iceland
His username pointing towards him being from Iceland perhaps :). I was wondering if they could qualify tonight..(I don't pay much attention to national teams)

My gf is in Belgrade for work and decided to go to the game. She has frontrow tickets by the looks of her snapchats, so she should join a pitch invasion after the match if they win.

Maybe they pulled Chelsea, and played to get Jo...Cacic sacked. And now they will play best game of their lives. Or maybe they want to have a long summer, or maybe they don't remember how to play football for their country.

How are we doing?
We are awful. Defending. Waiting for goal. Scared.
Btw - i am so glad that we didn't buy perisic. Last couple of matches for croatia he is awful. Play for your NT , you prick. Him and rakitic are disgraceful

Ghana's team got old, it'll be interesting to see how they and Ivory Coast blood in the new generation (if there is one). I was pleasantly surprised by Nigeria's hitch-free qualification through a presumed group of death.
Nigeria seem to be consistently good qualifiers .

No one else on the African continent seems to be that consistent. Makes the whole thing exciting though.

They did the same thing with McCarthy in 99 before that horrorshow in Skopje. I have no idea why they consistently leave it to the last game when issues still need to be settled.
Because they are idiots run by one of the most corrupt men in Europe who just happens to be the biggest fecking idiot of them all.

There must be an entire library of occasions when they made baffling decisions which defy belief.

What exactly is Perisic good at, except crossing(not great either, but better than your average winger's crossing)?

Lumping the ball at that wales defence might be a good tactic tonight as they seem to have no idea how to deal with it, generally kicking it straight up in the air with no distance on it

Arghhh. Not surprising tbh. They all play like world class players for their teams, and for NT they play worst than me. Bastards. Part of me wants us not to go to Russia, something might change. Right...

Why would mick be sacked in 99?

Well sacking him wouldn't have been inevitable but they could've waited until the end of the campaign to assess his future, particularly as we had thrown away a favourable position against a team that even then we should have seen off.

Ireland are so bad. They don't deserve to be at the World Cup (sorry Irish lads, I want you to be there instead of Wales - but it's like watching an international version of a Tony Pulis side)

True

I thought you meant they should have sacked him...but of course they were correct to keep him on. 2002 campaign was amazing

Anyway, back to the football tonight. It is encouraging that the early pressure we faced died off towards the end and are still in it. At the same time though, it's been very scrappy and not troubling. We may be all square but we need a win here so lumping the ball in and hoping it's going to fall for us isn't going to work.

My god! We are truly terrible. Our best player (Insigne) is totally useless down the left, but Ventura doesn't understand it.

Blame MON for that. Obviously we are far from a great side (4.8m people and football isn't even our most played sport) but we should be able to play better than this at least.
