As reported recently, PSG are needing money for FFP, and Mbappe could become the answer.

Martial wants to leave according to his agent, and obviously being French i'm sure he'd be happy moving to PSG.

Mbappe is an absolute star and bound to be world class, I imagine he would work well with Lukaku and Rashford.

Would you swap Martial for Mbappe? I love Martial but if he's really got his heart set on leaving, then I think it would be a smart move.

Mbappe plays mainly on the right too, doesn't he?

I think we need a poll to decide this tricky question

Options:
Yes
Yes

I really rate Martial and would definitely be against him leaving but hypothetically if this swap with Mbappe were even a slight possibility . I'd be all for it!.

Can't see it happening though.

I don’t understand, I thought Mbappe hadn’t been bought yet by PSG but was only there on loan?

Anyone who wouldn't do this, needs their head examined throughly. It's as big of a no brainer as possible.

Never happen in a million years though.

Of course and I'm a Martial fan. Mbappe has a better understanding of the game even though I still think Martial is more talented with the ball at his feet.

Wouldn't even think of it it's that much of a no brainer. Mbappe has the right mentality to make it to the top. Complete opposite to Martial

Without doubt. Mbappe simply put is the better player. He's also more versatile in that he can play anywhere in the front 3/4 and regularly plays on the right wing for both PSG and France (which is a position our squad is definitely lacking). Martial plays in positions that we're well stacked in (on the left we have Sanchez and Rashford and up front we have Lukaku and Rashford is generally played there ahead of him). Martial will have a very good career, but Mbappe should be a much better player.

Erm obviously. Martial is quick etc but end product of a blancmange

I'm a big Martial fan, so I'm going to be pretty depressed when (or if) he leaves. That said though, if we got Mbappe in, that would certainly go a long way to helping me get over Martial. :D

But say Mbappe doesn't make his move to PSG permanent, what's wrong with an ambitious club like us keeping Martial AND getting Mbappe?

Imagine what a front line that could be in a few years time, Martial, Rashford & Mbappe!!

No brainer. We need RW and Woodward would love some marquee signing.

To make it clear: Mbappé is a PSG player. His signing has already been taken into the books for this past season. The whole loan deal was so they could effectively sign him to a 6 year contract instead of 5

So no, there is no chance he might go back to Monaco. He's a PSG player, they own his playing rights. And no, there is no chance PSG will consider selling him. For no reason. Zero. They'd sooner gut the team if it comes to that

Now with all that said, to answer the OP: you'd need your jaw snapped if you wouldn'tdo it

Let's swap Sanchez for Mbappe instead.

Yeah, give them £90mil + Sanchez for him.

He'd be absolutely ideal for the right-side problem.

Keep Martial; I'm not convinced Mbappe is a higher tier of player, I think they have the same ceiling.

Lukaku, Rashford, Martial and Mbappe and that'd be the attacking positions sorted for the next 10 years.

Yeah, think we need a new RB :)

Nah but seriously, would be great for us obviously as it brings a better balance to our squad and first team lineup. Would be interested to see how he does in this league. You would think he would fit in cos of his pace and ability.

If we're looking to make a huge forward signing then Mbappe would be a better choice than any of the other big names like Ronaldo, Bale and Neymar. 80 million plus Martial or anything upwards towards 200 million in a straight cash deal would actually be worth it. Though I think we're weak in a lot of other areas and would like us to spread the spending out a bit more evenly.

But this deal hypothetically, you literally cannot turn it down. Unfortunately PSG aren't that stupid.

I would probably swap Martial for Mbappe due to the fact the latter would be a better fit in Mourinho's system, however people are making it sound like it's a choice between Iniesta and fecking Rodwell.

Mbappe becoming a better player than Martial is far from certain, especially if he stays in France too long.

Depends on whether Mbappe actually wants the move, but on the face of yes definitely.

It would be great to watch Jose ruin not one but two young strikers by playing them on either wing in his crap attack.

So we can watch Mourinho mishandle and fail to develop another promising young wide forward?

If someone says no to this then that is a cry for help.

No way, Martial is just as talented as Mbappe and Jose would kill Mbappe's development with his negative tactics.

Oops looks like I'm too late and the shite posters have already said that.

This. PSG need to sell €60M worth of players by the end of June. They've sold Edouard for €10M, about to sell Pastore for €24M and though there isn't long left they should be able to get the other €26M needed. They don't need to get rid of Mbappe this year and won't.
