Zinedine Zidane | Resigns

Are Madrid not buying anyone this window then?

Zidane's been there for 2 years, won 2 CLs + the league and they haven't bought one single highly rated player in that time. They're one of the clubs with more revenue in the world and they're making profit on transfers. Is Perez simply not trusting him or are they just waiting to spend loads of money in the summer?

Zidane did not want new players...

Does he have full control over transfers? Anyone can see Madrid needs several new players.

More or less. But he has stated that they (he and the players) are in this mess, and together they gonna get through this mess.

His loyalty and friendship with the players is about to ruin his tenure at real madrid, especially his unconditional love for Benzema. Sometimes you have to go unsentimental like Fergie and sell the Beckhams or throw out the Keanes, no matter how good they were in previous years.

I think they'll surprise a few people when the PSG match comes but they've been standing still in the transfer market way too often in recent years. Their last big signing was James and that was after the last WC.

I don't think they need to get rid of players, just add 3 or 4 quality players and have players competiting for spots in the team.

Yeah true, should not count out Zidane and his crew yet; although it has looked poor most of the time this season. It will be interesting to see what they'll do during the summer. Barcelona are already miles ahead, not only in the table but also in signings.

Not exactly full control but his opinion holds weight. So far in the transfer windows with him, Flo has respected his opinions. The only instances were they might not have agreed 100% were Pogba and Mbappé

Same situation as with Mourinho, pretty much

He's gone. Even if he turns it around and win the CL again, he'll quit on his own at the end of the season. He won't be sacked unless we really run the risk of missing out on CL

The squad depth he sold has really cost them in my book.

Morata, James and Danilo were all good squad options.

I wonder if there are some genuine cash flow issues behind the scenes.
Or they're just waiting for the world cup to buy the next flavor of the month.

I think this excuse gets overplayed a lot.

When their best XI is on the field, they still have reserves of Theo Hernandez, Nacho, Kovacic, Ceballos, Isco, Vasquez, and Asensio. They may not have the same depth as last season, but I can't think of another team that has better players outside of their starting XI than Madrid does.

To be fair to Zizou, he needs to be given money to spend and rebuild that Madrid squad. As things stand Madrid is filled with a bunch of old declining players and Zidane doesn't want to admit it because he want to protect his players.

It's been years since Madrid have really spent and Zidane has worked with the same squad without adding improvement, now decline has finally caught up to most of those old players at Madrid things have gotten hard.

Their net spend over the last 4-5 years is staggeringly low (only about 50-75m total) when you consider that PSG, City, and United are net spending 100m+ every summer.

Ronaldo.....Zidane was very lucky but will get found out. Ronaldos decline has hurt Madrid. Ronaldo IS the reason that Barcelona didn't win more during their peak. Ramos got some important goals but Ronaldos form puts a lot of pressure on Zidane

Madrid starting 11 is mostly filled with old declining and crocks players. Their most important players are old and on the waine. Ronaldo, Benzema, Bale, Modric, Marcelo, these are key and Real nest players the past few season and they've significantly dropped due to age or injuries. Have any other team where at least 4 or 5 of their best and most important players drop their level like a rock and they'd struggle badly, no matter how good they previously were.

You think if Barca have Messi, Suarez, Busquet etc hit a large drop in performance, Barca would survive easily? Any team in the world where their previous most outstanding performers decline as bad as Real have would struggle to get back to their high levels no matter how good they were.

Isn't it obvious why they didn't spend money and sold so many quality players outside of their 11? Neymar lol

Man management is an important part of being a successful manager. But, yeah, there are certainly question marks about his tactical awareness.

It’s long been a question mark, look no further than his work in the Castilla

His luck has run out just like his time as coach there

Ronaldo 's decline has been the main reason behind Madrid performances. Any team will struggle if their talisman, especially ones as influential as Messi and Ronaldo begin to decline

Isco and Asensio, MAYBE Nacho... But those other guys you mentioned haven’t showed that they’re Real Madrid quality.

If they are knocked out of the CL by PSG, I wonder if Zidane will survive that, they seem to be going from bad to worse this season.

That is true, mixed in with injuries and plain loss of form by their world-class players. The dangerous thing with such a talisman is that he has earned the right to decide when he is finished, something Ronaldo will never admit sooner rather than later.

They will be fine of course, a couple of buys and they are at the top again. Thus the focus on Kane - he really is the player for them and there is not an NFL-stadium in the world that can change that fact.

We have more than €200 millions in cash reserves

No. Cristiano has been amazing for us, 2nd greatest player in the club's history, but no. We won 2 league titles with him, and in the second one he spent most of it injured, playing himself into fitness, or staying home to keep fresh for CL. The other one, yeah, he was vital, though we had a great time around him too, and barcelona were at the end of Guardiola's era. We met barca once in CL with him, and lost

The dangerous thing with such a talisman is that he has earned the right to decide when he is finished, something Ronaldo will never admit sooner rather than later.
Not at real madrid they don't

Will he be sacked before the season ends?

Will he become the French NT coach after the WC?

Will I ask any more questions in this post?

That rumor exists since the days of Laurent Blanc, the FFF would allegedly do anything to have Zidane.

What a stupid move that would be. Such a great squad. Just needs a proper manager. I don't think Zidane is at all.

When PSG knock them out, Zidane will be sacked. sad thing about football now but especially Madrid, they need 3 or 4 new faces of top quality, Benzema not good enough for a start, dont score enough goals, Bale to injury prone and Ronaldo just having a nightmare season, prob a CB and GK as well for me, would expect they will spend massive in the summer.

Courtois and Salah look likely in my opinion.

Question is if he gets sacked this weekend, if they loose vs Valencia.

I hope he gets sacked, and then is appointed to another club, so I can admire him with good conscious.
