So how did he perform in this game?. I read through the matchday thread, some confusing posts in there.
Giggs and Anderson are very unlikely to play in a two man midfield in any game of importance. Have they before?
Anderson's ideal partner has looked like Hargreaves, from the brief moments we saw them together in 07/08. It looked like a good match. Obviously that's not possible now, but a ball winner to sit and mop up a bit more is what he needs if we are playing 4-4-2. Fletcher could fulfill this, but he also likes to break forward and/or press higher up the pitch.
How has Anderson played with Fletcher? | Man Utd MotM StatsIn the season just gone, himself and Carrick looked as good a partnership as he ever looked when paired up with Hargreaves.
I agree that Fletcher should also work well with him. I'm not sure if it's ever been tried before though?
Yeah, I know they've been used in a midfield three together a few times - just can't remember them ever playing as a pair?
Wasn't impressed with him last night. Thought his passing was off and poorly weighted. His defensive tackling was dreadful.
He completed 45/50 passes, more than any other United player, and as for their weight, all of our players struggled with the weight of their passes due to the pitch. He completed 1/1 tackles.

ANDERSON'S TEAM-MATE TALES
United's Brazilian midfielder reveals all about the team-mates he's travelling with on tour...
Who is the best-dressed of your team-mates?
It's difficult to say. Patrice Evra is good. Rio Ferdinand is okay, not bad. Michael Owen is normal.
And the worst-dressed? Some of your colleagues say it is you...
No, I'm a quiet guy. I want to go and relax in flip-flops, shorts and T-shirt. For me, I don't mind. I like to be more relaxed and not wear a tie.
Who is the best player in training?
It depends. Every day one is good, another day, another is bad. The twins work very hard, Ji-sung Park and Ryan Giggs work hard too. These four are the best trainers.
And the worst trainer?
Sometimes it's me! Sometimes it's Kiko [Federico Macheda] or Wazza [Wayne Rooney], it depends on the day.
Who is the best dancer?
Me and Nani are good dancers. Patrice is good. The English guys? Maybe just Rio, probably Wazza is okay.
Who do you play jokes on the most?
Rio, Patrice, sometimes Gaby [Gabriel Obertan]. We all joke together. I joke with everyone, I don't care. Even Sir Alex, I don't mind. Brazilians are happy, they aren't sad, they like everyone to be happy.
Anderson believes Manchester United have enough quality in their squad to cope without the retired Paul Scholes.
Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be keen on bringing in a new playmaker to help fill the void left by Scholes' departure.
The likes of Wesley Sneijder, Samir Nasri and Luka Modric have all been linked with big-money moves to Old Trafford, but as yet Ferguson has not brought in a replacement for Scholes.
Anderson for one is hoping to step up to the mark to show Scholes can be replaced in United starting XI.
"Scholes was amazing, a legend, but it means more opportunity, more space for me," Anderson told Sky Sports News.
"Scholes was one player where I learn a lot, he was unbelievable and for me the best midfielder in the world.
"I think Scholes was very important for the team as he had amazing quality, but I think everyone together can take his position."
That's the third player to say this.Sounds to me that there will be no new signing in this position this window.

I wasn't aware we were using our midfielders as agents when trying to sign players.
Makes sense, would explain why we have failed to sign decent central midfielders for some time

For his part, Scholes says he won’t be too bothered if a new midfielder doesn’t arrive.
''The players already at the club have got the chance to go on and stake big claims,'' he added.
''Everyone knows the talent Anderson has got.
Attributes
''He can be a bit erratic at times but you forget he is still a young lad. But he is one who could have a massive part to play this season. He is in that category of playmaker. He can do that.
''Hopefully, with a bit more concentration, he can also score more goals as well. He has got the attributes. He has struggled with injury but if he has a good pre-season under his belt and be as professional as he can be, he should be a top class player''
Played well this morning, wasn't rushing passes, was making himself open all the time and made runs from midfield. Signs of maturity are there. Would love to know how many passes he made and how many he completed, where can i get these stats?
