UK Riots (with the exception of Manchester which has its own thread)

I'm guessing simply because it's too dangerous. If they go and use force they're likely to get twatted themselves.

More a case of they'd get in trouble themselves more so than the threat from these gangs. If a copper goes and brains some teenage lad, the fact that the lad may well have deserved it become irrelevant. The copper who does it will be kicked off the force and lose his benefits and the commnity that the kid came from would suddenly start protesting/rioting.

Mounted cops have gone into Hackney

I really do not know why the Government have not issued a State of Emergency.

Got to admit a beautiful calm evening here in Plymouth. I'm drinking some nice Merlot on my terrace.

That map is reporting of some trouble in Leeds

Someone got shot in the face earlier today, and when police came there were over a 100 masked lads, not sure if it's an isolated incident or not, but reports of 200+ masked lads there now, not doing anything mind.

Someone just told me that the police station in Illford has been broken into and ransacked.

That can't possibly be true can it?

Because it's nowhere near that level yet.

Rioters are out of control across the Capital and it is spreading to the surburbs and others parts of the Country - and this is before nightfall, it most certainly is at that level.

I hate the world sometimes.

Where the feck is Cameron? Disgraceful behaviour, if the police can't cope send the army out there.

It's concerning that they can't control this situation, I hope they're better prepared for the Olympics.

I dunno man...myself and the missus are a little unnerved to be honest

Get a knife, sellotape it to a broom handle or big stick.

Proper gaffer tape it on, a bread knife or something. Anyone gets in, stab 'em.

I like how the news are basically saying the police aren't doing enough, you just know that if they were in there kicking heads in (like they should be allowed to) they'd be fecking moaning about brutality. Bloody media.

The vast majority of the population is safe. Saturday football across the country during the 70's caused more chaos than this. The streets aren't on fire and theirs not widespread panic. Just a very small portion of idiots burning and looting. The Brixton riots were far worse than this and they affected whole suburbs and other cities in the country and no state of emergency was declared.
The last ste of emergency was during the industrial action of the 70's and that was due to the fact th majority of the country was shutting down and everyone was going to be affected. This is a pin prick in comparison. All they have to do is give a clear the streets order and the cops can act with full reasonable force.

Tell that to people in London, all Londoners can see that if where they live is targeted, the police will not be in a position to protect them.

Fighting just broken out in lewisham, feck I live in the lewisham borough, now I am feeling nervous

Went through at about 6, cops everywhere, I live in Blackheath, there is a burning smell in the air. Bizarrely though all the trains are running on time. Be interesting to see what the score is tomorrow, not expecting a great journey in to work

I'm surprised nobody has been killed. It could take something like that to stop it, hope not though.

I want some free stuff, I may start a riot to support these protests.

How are they still finding cars to burn? I'd hide mine somehow. Drive it away to a quieter area.

Ken Livingstone playing politics on BBC news at the moment, fecking prick

He's running for Mayor of London, what do you fecking expect? For him to do a Cameron and remain invisible?

There is a reason he was thrown out of the Labour Party - no doubt he has the mayoral elections on his mind.

Dianne Abbott coming across as sensible, the world truely has gone mad.
