Big building burning in Croydon on Sky News is Reeves furniture, on Reeves Corner. Family business open since 1867. Gone just like that.

Some of those fires look like footage from the blitz in the 40s

Absolute vile bastards doing this

Number 10 says "Twitter rumours" that the army have been deployed in some areas in response to the rioting "are just rumours".

I was on sight visits today in Surrey and when through Croydon.

I can't believe this shit.

Hate reading about stuff like this. Your livelihood gone just like that. Over a hundred years of your family's hard work and effort...gone. Just gone. :nono: The authorities need to get a handle on this situation and fast. This just isn't right.

Aren't they supposed to be brave?

Guys who run into burning buildings to save peoples lives? Yeah I'd say that was pretty brave.... no sure they should have to go in and face gangs of rioting shitheads though, trying not to be killed by the burning buildings must be hard enough without doing it while being attacked.

I haven't heard anyone in the last dozen pagea of this thread try to justify what's happened as a justifiable protest against police brutality. Even the kids involved gave up that pretence a while back.

Of course, that's not to say the ghettoisation (no idea if that's spelt right) of a segment of London society isn't a big factor. You reap what you sow as a society and the bigger the gap between the haves and the have nots the more likely you are to create a generation of kids that just don't give a feck.

Exactly. It's like the student business a while back, most of the trouble was caused by fecknuts who just went along for the ruck.

This after your "the police are not doing a good job post"? You're on a roll.

The Conservative government aren't in any way responsible, oh no.

I'm starting to get a very low tolerance for these thugs. The situation has escalated so the authorities need to raise their response. They are destroying communities, businesses and spreading fear. We need to get control of the streets quickly.

I'm not adverse to tear gas, water cannons, tasers, etc being used. Need to make a statement of intent and teach these idiots, young or not, some respect.

I'm not too far away from Ealing is the police taking precaution?

I think so. It's not my pic, I found it on the net but i've just seen another one. Looks like riot police are lurking around as well.
