Great short read.
Does anyone know why the army haven't got involved?
With regards to communities standing up for themselves, I'm all for it. As Mockney said, get proper numbers involved and the looters will be overhwelmed. It'd be great if everyone united and give these scum a good kicking. It's about time communities stood together with a common goal, instead of the usual shit we see in the news.
I've seen a few bits and pieces saying that there's trouble starting here in Preston, though I'm not sure if it's true yet.
If the government can't guarantee the safety of it's citizens, maybe US style gun laws aren't such a bad idea after all![]()
So a friend of mine had their flat in Haringey broken into and completely stripped bare. Took everything. Even their bedding. Wasn't your normal break in either. Every window in the place had been smashed in and they obviously took their time looting it. Another friend got fronted up to by a gang of masked hoodies while walking to work through London Fields and only just managed to talk his way out of a beating.
London's a shit place to be right now, even if most people are managing to stay un-molested. Sounds as though the impression i'm getting from the news coverage isn't far wide of the mark.

You owt to be ashamed of yourself.
The death count so far is what, 1? 2? Throw guns in and watch those numbers fly.
Ought is a Manc thing, Aidan.
Yep, Tottenham, Hackney, Croyden, Ealing, Birmingham, Salford, Manchester and all the other places involved would undoubtedly have been much safer places to be over the last few nights if everybody had guns.
Nottingham police station firebombed by 30/40 guys.

Police helicopter has been circling in Hammersmith for about 20 minutes now... though there doesn't appear to be anything going on. Might just have felt like flying.
