Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspur

---------------De Gea
Smalling---Jones--Evans---Evra
--------------Carrick
--------Cleverley---Giggs
-Young--------------------Park
---------------Rooney

I hope that's not the team.

I wouldn't be too bothered about going 451 at home but not with Park in the side at the expense of Nani.

De Gea

Nani

Giggs
Young

Berbatov

2-0 for United and De Gea playing an absolute blinder just to shut the media up.

I hope not either but be realistic, Park and Giggs need games and their experience will take pressure off the young defense

Aon is one of the biggest insurance companies world wide but who is Aurasma?

Everyone understands this...

Aurasma is the world's leading augmented reality platform but who is vanrooney?

Does anyone understand this? I have no idea what this even means, augmented reality platform...wtf? What do I need one of those for?

Edit: A nubile sent me this, I haven't looked at it yet as I can't put the sound on at work:

Anyone think Cleverley will play in a 2 man midfield?

Doesn't look like we're signing another CM which suggests a big amount of involvement for him this season. With us sticking to the traditional formation I think SAF may give him a few games in the role alongside Anderson/Carrick like against WBA.

Hasn't he already been playing in a 2 man midfield the past two games? Welbeck and Rooney have started up front with Anderson and Cleverley. In the community shield he played in a 2 man midfield in the second half and the league game pretty much the full game.

I know but from this thread it seems a lot of people are even going for him in a 5 man midfield or not picking him in a 4-4-2.

Bit different with WBA and City (friendly competition) so if he's put in against Spurs then I'll reckon he will rack up 25+ starts this season.

I have a feeling Giggs is going to start behind the striker with Anderson and Carrick behind him against Tottenham. Don't forget Fletcher is fit now too. He is going to start playing too.

Depends how he performs. He seems very much in favour right now so if he does not start against Spurs we can at least expect him to be the first CM off the bench

Right now his performances have been close to ideal for what we need without Scholes as an option. As long as he doesnt start going a bit quiet in bigger matches and his passing accuracy doesnt start to drop then we can continue to trust him

I forget about Fletcher. He was great in the 09/10 season and if he can redeem that form it will give an extra, fresh option. It'll also make some good competition for places if Anderson can perform this season. Anderson, Carrick, Fletcher, Cleverley and still the class of Giggs to get us through this season in the centeral area.

He's no Scholes yet, of course. Although his playing style now is quite similar to the early Scholes, in that as Scholes career progressed he got deeper, and became more of a deep lying playmaker. If Cleverly stays at the club he'll probably develop into a similar mould of player.

He's jumping straight from regular football at Wigan to regular football at United, and potentially in the CL. It's a huge difference and he'll undoubtedly have poor games this season but he's got talent and if he can express it then we're all the benefiters.

Its basically the same midfield as last season with Cleverley replacing Scholes.

But for two thirds of it we were without a consistent Fletcher and a fit Anderson (and a shit one)

Scholes wasn't starting the big games either, which Cleverlely may be doing based on recent performances.

Carrick and Giggs were the best choice to start in the centre, now both may be on the bench.

I wonder if Giggs' non-appearance at West Brom might have to do with the three records he'll break next time he plays a league game, (most career top-flight appearances at one club and most Premier League appearances, most PL seasons appeared in,) where Fergie was saving that for a game at OT?

frigs sake still over 3 deays to go.

De Gea; Fabio, Smalling, Evans, Evra; Nani Carrick Anderson Young; Rooney, Berbatov

The team on Monday will be a very young defensive line-up, with Jones and Evans in the centre and Smalling at right-back, but Patrice Evra will be back for Spurs, which gives us experience. David De Gea will learn from the experience of the games he's had so far. We'll also have Cleverley and Welbeck. So it's a very young team at the moment, but it's a team full of energy and it's a team of great ability. I'm enjoying watching them at the moment.
- Fergie.

From what Sir Alex has said, I think we will see this.

Against Tottenham?

Sounds a bit risky to me, but at the same time there's the confidence in our squad to do the job.

we don't have a choice, rafael, rio and vidic are out injured

Really surprised Berbatov wouldn't be starting against Tottenham, thought he was nailed on given it's against his old club. I suspect if a club made a decent offer for him he would be sold.
