Liverpool v Manchester United

They'll be up for this. We need to defend properly and not give away as many opportunities as we have being doing. Suaraz won't miss too many.

Did he ref when Carragher took down Owen as last man with no booking only to send off vidic in the same match? Or am I mixing two different matchs together?

It was the same match--lost 2-0, Torres and N'Gog.

It wasn't quite last man IIRC and he did book him for the offence

Agreed.
It's their cup final. Unlike the last three occasions we better turn up this time, it's fecking painful for an awful long time whenever we lose to these cnuts... no matter how shite they are.

Thought I'd take a peek at the rawk match thread, and found this:

kenny is onto Mr Alex Ferguson and his so called mind games.....its turned full circle....i am convinced his own players will have more of an apreciation of kenny than Mr Alex Ferguson because hes younger,in the now and has a much bigger charisma.
Mr Alex Ferguson has a record, but hes a c*nt...no one likes him, whearas kenny has both charisma and nouse, plus hes a top player of his generation....stick them at opposite ends of a bar and i will bet yer the manc players would much prefer to stand and drink with kenny ....every time....kenny is a winner
whenever that threat has arrived upto now,Mr Alex Ferguson has bottled it and goes into BULLY mode....he got away with it with rafa because rafa always had a communication problem because it wasnt his first language.
if it would have happened in spain, rafa would have wiped the floor with him and sent him packing with a tail between his legs.
in the back of my mind, one day i hope rafas english is pure....fluent.
he would take Mr Alex Ferguson and the press on no problem then....problem is,whiskey nose wouldnt be around !

Followed by:

Great post

and:

fecking spot on.

...

If Gerrard kisses the camera, I really hope there's a loose wire hanging off it and he electricutes himself live on TV*

* obviously not fatally. I'm not that classless. But it would be funny to see a white glow round him and his skeleton like on cartoons.

rafa always had a communication problem because it wasnt his first language.

It's not the poster's either, judging by his spelling.

Can't wait to hear 19, 19, 19 ring around that shithole of a stadium.

They're playing at Ibrox v Rangers next Tuesday!

John Aldridge believes Luis Suarez can expose the defensive vulnerabilities of one of our fiercest rivals on Saturday.

The Reds take on Manchester United knowing victory would leave them just three points behind the league leaders.

Last time the sides met at Anfield Dirk Kuyt fired a hat-trick - but Suarez was the catalyst for what was a memorable 3-1 win.

And Aldo has seen enough of the champions this season to believe the Uruguayan can give them a sense of deja vu.

"Make no mistake, Alex Ferguson will be very, very wary of Suarez this weekend," said the former Reds striker, who scored one goal in four games for Liverpool against the Mancunians.

"He knows his side have a lot of defensive flaws that can be exposed. They have been great going forward, fantastic to watch, but they are vulnerable.

"Even the likes of Basle and Norwich have shown that recently.

"If Suarez brings his top form, Liverpool will be in a great position. He ran United absolutely ragged when the sides last met back in March.

"He made all three goals, and gave the United defenders nightmares all afternoon. Dirk Kuyt got a hat-trick, but Suarez was the star man."

'Luis can expose Man Utd flaws' - Liverpool FC

hmm talking big before the match, I hope we stuff his words down his throat...

"Make no mistake, Alex Ferguson will be very, very wary of Suarez's diving this weekend"

fixed.

Starfish looks set to start.
Think that will play into our hands. He won't be match fit so if we go with our high tempo he might struggle to get to grips with it early on. His position could also disrupt them unless they drop Carroll or move Suarez out wide. Either way, it's a gamble changing formation to accommodate him.

Kenny Dalglish!

In the Now

I swear ex-Liverpool players (MOTD crowd excluded) are far more partisan than our lot. And we've got Gary Neville at Sky and he's nowhere near as bad as some would think.

Not as confident as you lot seem to be about getting a win there. Liverpool usually win by dominating our 2 man midfield. I see nothing in our midfield in the last few games to suggest we can counter this any better this season than in the previous 2.

Carrick usually disappears off the radar in these type of games, Fletcher is still not fit, and Giggs and Anderson give the ball away much too often. If we can get the ball to our wingers and give good service to the strikers we should win, but tbh, Suarez against Evra is giving me nightmares.

Should be a great game as long as Utd are up for the fight, which is what Liverpool will try and make it, if we are not, we will be in for a torrid 90mins and another painful defeat.

As much as Aldridge is, inevitably, deciding to turn a blind eye to Liverpool's weaknesses, he has a point. Our defence is leaking a lot of chances at the moment and Liverpool wll be better equipped to take advantage than Basle or Norwich were.

Having said that, I can see us also having a hatful of chances at Anfield. Liverpool will over-commit as they go hunting for gaps in our defence so I think we'll be able to exploit gaps in theirs also.

My heart says we'll snatch it but head fancies a score draw.
