Liverpool v Manchester United

I honestly wouldnt bother starting Vidic. He usually takes a while to get his rhythm going and he's been injured for almost 2 months now and Anfield is probably his least favourite ground.

If Vidic is fit, he will start. If he's a doubt or not fit, then we could see:

Jones---Rio---Smalling---Evra (that's if Smalling is even fit).

We'll just wait and see I suppose.

Injuries to Evra, Fabio and possibly Young according to other threads on here. We could be in some trouble next week if Fergie deems it too early to consider Vidic, Cleverley and Smalling.

I have a bad feeling about this match , I think we'll get turned over - hope not but I just think the dippers will be right up for this one and I'm not sure our guys will be upto the task.

They have dominated our midfield at Anfield recently.

They will be well up for it and will pressure us everywhere.

Rooney up top on his own. We will need that extra man in midfield.

Id go with this:

----------DDG----------
Smalling Vidic Jones Evans
-----Carrick---Fletcher------
----------Anderson---------
Nani-------------------Young
-----------Rooney------------

Evra for Evans if fit. Heard somewhere that Evra is hurt.

This will be a similar game to the game at Anfield in 08. Fast-paced but extremely tight at the same time. Our quality should get us a goal or two but we need to be air-tight at the back.

Biggest test of the season. Let's do this.

Anyway, I was in the local Fancy Dress shop the other day looking for a Vampire costume for a Halloween party when the young lady behind the till handed me a Liverpool shirt!!
A little bemused, I said to her 'Sorry love, you must have misheard me...I said I wanted to look like a Count'.

If Spurs can beat them with Defoe, we can play two strikers.

Skrtel got an early red. that game proved nothing.

But yeah, i do think we should play both strikers rather than isolating rooney upfront on his own. i dont really rate this pool midfield so ando+cleverley and rooney dropping deep should be enough if we play to our potential.

I think you mean Adam. It was already 1-0 by the time Adam was sent off, 28th minute, but yeah, 5 minutes after Skrtel's off, 63rd minute, it's 3-0.

I don't mind if we play 1 striker, but I don't think we have to.

---------------------------De Gea-----------------------

--Smalling----------R.Ferdinand----J. Evans--------P.Evra--

---------------------------P.Jones------------------------

---Nani-------------Fletcher------Anderson--------A.Young-

---------------------------W.Rooney----------------------

Subs: Lindegaard, Da Silva (any of the one), Giggs, Park, Welbeck, Carrick
Prediction:0-2. Nani (35, 76th)
I'd go for all our midfield battlers- Fletch, Ando and Jones in the centre midfield. Our attacks to come from flanks. I'd expect Nani to exact some revenge for last year's horror tackle from Carragher. 2 goals from Nani to join the ranks of Scouser Busters alongside Diego, Pally, Giggsy, Hughesy, Whiteside.

De Gea
Jones Ferdinand Vidic Evra
Nani Carrick Anderson Young
Rooney
Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Smalling, Valencia, Giggs, Fletcher, Berbatov, Hernandez.

Spurs were dominating and 1-0 up when Adam got sent off. I think they would still have won but not 4-0. It was at Spurs and not Anfield which is always different too.

I suppose it has to be either

....Fletcher Carrick
Nani Anderson Young
.........Rooney

or

..Carrick Anderson
Nani Rooney Young
......Chicharito

I'm thinking Chich will get the nod over Welbeck if we go with 2 strikers, with his experience in big games.

Right, starting to get mildly nervous here. Would love to see Carrick backing up Ando and Cleverley in the midfield.

Cannot wait for Saturday!

DDG, Smalling, Rio, Evans, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Anderson, Young, Welbeck, Rooney

If Vida is fit, I'd play him for Evans, same with Smalling (otherwise Jones)

Are not both Evra and Fabio doubts?

I would go with ...
David DeGea
Phil Jones
Jonny Evans
Rio Ferdinand
Chris Smalling
Antonio Valencia
Darren Fletcher
Anderson
Ryan Giggs
Nani
Wayne Rooney

Subs:
Anders Lindegaard (if fit)/Tomasz Kuszczak
Tom Cleverley (if fit)/Michael Carrick
Ashley Young (if fit)/Park Ji Sung
Patrice Evra (if fit)/Nemanja Vidic (if fit)
Park Ji Sung
Javier Hernandez
Dimitar Berbatov

You only get experiance by playing, Welbeck is in better form at the moment and has to start imo

This is the only fixture where I don´t enjoy watching United. Every time we play those Scouse bastards I´m so fecking nervous I know it´ll shorten me life. There isn´t a better feeling than beating the scum and yes the missus knows that:p

We all thought Fergie wouldn't play 4-4-2 against Barca and he did just that.

I'm always confident against Liverpool at Anfield and we usually do shit. I predict a 3-0 hammering against us for the reverse psychology win!

We're getting bummed in this one. Said it vs Chelsea, also vs Arse as well. No two ways about it, we're going down faster than Rimaldo at a truckers convention

I think most of us expected the team that started against Barca.

The things I would do for an absolute battering. I'd literally cut one of my balls out of the sack and play ping pong with it for decades on end for a 4-0 or similar.

Rooney hattrick as well, how fecking  would that be.

Going to be a long week waiting for this.

I seriously hope we play a 3 man midfield to avoid be dicked by their midfield like we've had done in the last 3 years.

Welbeck surely has to start. If we play two strikers, tbh, Id rather have him then Chico with Chico being on the bench should we need a goal.

Also if Cleverley and Vida are fit (and it seems the aim for fergie is to get them both match ready for Liverpool) they have to play. With Cleverley, at least on the bench and Ando / Fletcher.

Weird one with our defence. If Rio and Vida are both fit they will both start imo. But that may be a mistake. Is Evra fit? is Evans fit? Smalling will he be ready?

It could be a defence of Smalling, Jones, Vida, Evans. Its a tough one to call.

Midfield is the really interesting one as we've been over run by their energy for the last few years at their place. Thats why I think Ando has to start with either Fletcher or Cleverley. Hopefully for Liverpool, its a midfield of Downing, Adam, Henderson and Gerrard ... :s

Do we have a defence?

That's what I'm worried about. The constant changes at the back have contributed to our lack of composure in the last few games, and this one could potentially be the worst in terms of player availability in that area. Ferdinand and Jones seem to be the only definite starters.
