Manchester United Vs Manchester City.

Anyone feel that City forced an 'injury' to De Jong to bring in Yaya after they saw our lineup? I imagine Mancini would have expected a more packed midfield.

rooney will drop into midfield.leaving danny to lead the line.......hernandez to come on with about 20 mins to go and run riot......simple as.

He's club captain and been the best defender in the world over the past three or four seasons. I hear what you're saying, but I'd take a slightly rusty Vidic over Evans any day. There's no denying Evans has been in good form this year though.

Would Keane have been rested or deliberately left out for this game when he was club captain in the same manner? I don't think so.

That would be not very smart of you. It's fine to take a gamble and play a rusty Vida against a Blackburn or Wigan, but against the league leaders, who have been piling on the goals for fun?

Nope, you go with the 100% fit and in form Evans.

I hope Fletcher and Anderson are on their game today. They will need to boss that midfield. Welbeck is quite a smart choice. I like the way he can carry the ball into danger.

Surely Carrick must be injured. Why else would he be left out after his last performance.

Sky are a fecking sham, being at QPR today not at Old Trafford, just to save a few quid on petrol or something.

They always do that, they are based at the ground who kicks off at 1600hrs

I don't think that's a good enough reason to continue to pick him when Carrick's playing better football. Carrick deserves to start imo...unless he's injured.

SAF has continually selected Fletcher for big games throughout his career. Not sure why you think it's not a good enough reason if Fergie thinks Fletcher is suited more for such games.

Oh. My. God. Mike Summerbee is actually a idiot.

But liked that little clip.

Our back four is going to have to be at their absolute best today, having Anderson and Fletcher in front of them, "protecting" from midfield... :nervous:

Nope you havent, not in the last few years anyway

Yes, that seems likely, I do remember them basing themselves at the bigger game though, then having like a periphery host at the other game. I'd apologise to Sky if I called them scrimpers based on a falsehood, except I hate them.

The Crerand V Summerbee was piece was very enjoyable, it's just Mike hasn't really got a grasp on reality and takes everything as a slight.

Could someone please send me a stream? I'm stuck at work in Egypt and I can't watch it anywhere :(

Indeed. I'm really worried about how we'll handle Silva without Carrick. Both Anderson and Fletcher will have to play with a great deal of discipline.

I am quite worried about today. Evans is doing well but I worry about him, De Gea on crosses I am not convinced and Fletcher's recent form...

I think we'll step up today from how we've been in the past 3 weeks or so. I remember a couple of years ago we were having a poor spell and had a tricky game against Chelsea where we massively raised our game and were back to our best. Past few games against them, most recently the Charity Shield, I think we still have that psychological edge over them.

Let the battle of Manchester begin!

No qualms about Fletcher's inclusion on my part. If there was a surprise, it is Welbeck over Hernandez.

I like the team except the inclusion of Fletcher.Hopefully he'll recover his "big game" mentality
Yeah that's right. You can't quibble with it except for the inclusion of Fletcher and even that's not a big issue since we know what he can do when he's on form. Maybe Fergie saw something on the training ground? It's a perfectly good team on the whole for a game like this.

Neither Carrick nor Giggs being on the bench is troubling though.

Agree, but Welbeck is a good stater and Hernandez a good super sub to have, so I would guess we'd see a swap later on.

Jones and Park to the rescue. :nervous:

Anderson and Fletcher have proven that they are not on the same wave length time and time again. Why do we persist? Evans in the air is still a concern for me although he has looked better this season. Would have preferred Jones tbh.

Its true, a title challenging team could be built from the subs benches.

I was just wondering, is Rafael still injured?

back in training like cleverley, but not match-fit yet.
