Manchester United Vs Manchester City.

From the throw in, no player took Silva, no player followed Milner. Anderson, Rooney and Nani just walking.

Most positive thing about the first half: Although our central midfield doesn't seem good, City are by no means scary. Silva has had a good run or two, but has been closed down. Apart from the goal they've had nothing. We can still get a result if we stop getting paralysed as soon as we reach their box.

100% agree.

Nani seriously awful today!

City seriously deserve their lead for being so comfortable. We are the home team obviously we are expected to have more possesion in the beginning

They look more confident as well.

Unbelievble that Midfield is our weakest part yet again. And Fergie still ignores it.

I thought you were blaming Young, Nani, Rooney and Welbeck only a few minutes ago?

People calling for Hernandez to be on - I really don't think up front is our problem (although Rooney has been pretty poor tbh).

Even if Hernandez was to come on, I don't see our midfield being picking him out with any passes.

We've been good up until we get around their area, then we just seem to turn into the world's shittest team and stand still spacking around with the ball until Fletcher gets it and tries something moronic.

Why can't someone make a run or provide an angle to get a ball into the box? Or just do something? As soon as one person stand still with the ball the chance is gone.

Also, has Ashley Young EVER not overhit an inswinging cross. He's so crap at it Rooney's started standing 4 metres beyond the far post in anticipation of needing to retrieve the ball after Young gets it wrong. Why does he keep fecking trying it about 10 times in every game?

Maybe others have also noticed this but during the corner kicks in the first half, Smalling (who is the team's best header of the ball) was taking these weird positions inside the penalty.Like too close to the keeper

Don't get all this pessimism. I can't believe we're 1-0 down tbh. Looked much better than them, just need a bit more urgency and pace in our build up play. Nani and Rooney need to stamp their authority on the game.

the lack of creativity in midfield obviously the issue. Just tha last 10 minutes we were a bit more direct. Kompany's foul on Wellbeck was an indication we can rattle them.

Hernandez for Fletcher and Wellbeck drop behind may be an option.

Welbeck has been good, Evans has been better.

Evans been the biggest factor in the score being 1-0 for City. He lost possession high up the pitch, City then posed danger for the first time and then he loses his footing which gives Balotelli space to execute a good finish.

The he has our only chance in the game but misses awfully.

They're a well drilled defensive unit, to be fair...and we've not got the quality in the middle of the park to unlock them. Hmmmm......perhaps we're missing Cleverly more than we realise.

Problem is that it appears we need 2 CM rather than one. Moreover, to much is expected of Cleverley- the fact he played in our first 4-5 games doesn't mean he's responsible for our better early form.

Fletcher kills our creativity in midfield. We need to add more to our link-up play. Berbatov perhaps?

SAF persistence with Fletcher & Anderson is so frustrating. I appreciate that he sees them everyday in training but they are just poor - week after week.
We deserve to be one down at half time.

Can see City getting another. Astonishing how nervous we looked after they'd scored but the crowd were shite (I know...critisising from home but the point remains) for about 15 minutes before the goal went in.

Flat crowd, flat performance. Trying to be optimistic but I think we're going to lose here.

No, but he can at least keep ball, our midfielders are utter spastics on the ball.

Not sure why all the negativity, we have been good if a bit toothless and City scored a good goal against the run of play. Fair enough they got the ball due to a sloppy bit of play from us but I can't blame the defence, it was really well taken by Balloteli. Don't think anyone has been as bad as has been made out.

Berbatov may just be able to unlock this defense but we also need to increase our pace and tempo and well, he's not really who I'd bet on doing that.

Hernandez needs the ball in the box, and we've hardly delivered the kind of delivery he thrives on. I can see him hardly getting a kick if things stay the same.

Also, why do we have no midfielders on the bench? Fletcher is going to need to come off at some point, and now when it happens we're pretty much fecked.

Baffling really

think it will be a dramatic finish to this match.

stay positive mate.

Well that's what I'm worried about.
But given that SAF doesn't want to splash out on a CM, that could mean waiting three years for our midfield potentials to come good, if they do that is..

I'm not too worried.

United were the better team most of the first half, and the ball has been getting into good positions.

Have faith. Even if United lose, they've been playing well in my opinion. Sometimes the breaks just don't go your way.

I'd be more worried if United were playing badly, but they aren't.

I've been wondering this all game long. There have been times where we line up like a reverse flying V with our wingers the furthest advanced and nobody in the box for them to cross or pass to. We've tried to pass our way through the city back line nearly every time we have got in the penalty area. I actually got happy when Ando just smacked one at Hart. It was the first shot on target we'd had all game...fancy that?

They protect the wings very well which means we've got nothing else to do as our centre midfield is shockingly uncreative.

Rooney and Welbeck dropping deep constantly doesn't help either but It's the only way they can get to the ball so It's understandable.

This is the Caf. If you are 1 - 0 down you've lost the game. The team is shit, the world is about to end. Nevermind the fact that we have 45 minutes to go and the last few times we've played City we've come from behind every time. Nope. 1-0 down and we may as well just give them 3 points and go home.

It's one thing critiscising the team for a poor performance, but when the comments come out about them being due a win and it being game over etc, wtf.

No, but he can at least keep ball, our midfielders are utter spastics on the ball.

Anderson's been quite good to be fair. Fletcher's been, er...random.

Carrick was excellent with Anderson in the second half on Tuesday, and isn't even on the bench.

We don't exactly do yourselves any favours.
