If Gibson plays and Morrison doesn't, there might be a riot.
Only by idiots.....not like they are in direct competition

Sir Alex reveals selection plans for Palace - Official Manchester United Website
Morrison - bench at least
Fryers/Da Silvas/Smalling - possible
Pogba - could play centre midfield
Diouf/Macheda - need games
Building a team out of them (I know they probably won't actually play, just for fun):
Amos
Rafael Smalling Fryers Fabio
Pogba Gibson
Diouf Morrison Young
Macheda
I've missed all but one of our Carling Cup matches this season, annoyingly. So I have told the girlfriend I'm not seeing her tomorrow![]()

We've played two matches.
It's easier to write "I've missed Leeds/Aldershot game", Sol.
Oh ok I missed both then.
---------------Amos--------------
Rafael----Smalling---Evans----Fabio
Valencia--Fletcher---Pogba----Morrison
--------Berbatov-----Macheda---------
Perfect Team imo.
Too much inexperience on one side, switch Pogba and Fletcher and it looks better.
Yes obviously.
Maybe just one of Morrison or Pogba should start but I would personally love to see that exact team.
Is Morrison more of an out and out winger? For some reason I'm seeing him as more central for this game.
Somehow managed to convince myself this was today
As for Morrison, from what I've seen of him he seems to be either a winger, or somebody that plays behind the striker. I don't think I'd want him as part of a central midfield partnership (yet).
I thought so too. I'm pretty sure this topic originally said the game would be played today instead of "wednesday". The topic starter must have changed it.
..Freedman will rotate his squad for Old Trafford test
Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman admits his attempts to steer the club to a first cup semi-final for 10 years have been compromised by fixture congestion.
Tonight’s Carling Cup quarter-final against Manchester United at Old Trafford takes place just 48 hours before Palace entertain Derby County.
Freedman is looking forward to locking managerial horns with Sir Alex Ferguson for the first time, but with his side just two points off the Championship play-off pace, the ex- Scotland forward revealed tonight’s team selection will be heavily influenced by Friday’s fixture against their fellow promotion hopefuls.
“We’ve got to take into account that 48 hours later we are playing Derby, so we’ve got to make sure we are also prepared,” said Freedman, who was a Palace player the last time they reached the last four of this competition back in 2001.
“I will be mixing both teams around to give me the best opportunity to win both games. I’ll pick a team that can hold on for as long as possible against Manchester United and then pick a team that can beat Derby.”

I've spent the last few months hyping up Pogba and Morrison to anyone that'll listen (and a few people that wouldn't). They're playing for something much more important than a league cup semi-final place tonight. They're playing for my reputation as a spotter of talent.
