Last 5 results against Aston Villa at Villa Park

23.12.2006 - 0-3
20.10.2007 - 1-4
22.11.2008 - 0-0
10.02.2010 - 1-1
13.11.2010 - 2-2

Last loss against Villa was in 1995. We are unbeaten at Villa park in 15 games.

Can we please win this game comfortably? 0-5 or something. 3 Goals in the first 20 min.

I'd expect so. We're unlikely to wear red or blue against a team in claret and blue.
We wore blue in 09/10, when it was our second kit, so I expect us to wear blue&black kit today.

Which is good, because our current white kit is terrible, and it looks more terrible when we play Aston Villa.

Will McLeish park the bus as usual?

Of course.

I hope we score fairly early on. Them more frustrated we get the more we look vulnerable to the counter attack.

the team today will reflect our need to get a result Wednesday.

After Wednesday I doubt it, strongest XI will be out for the next two games, might be a bit of rotation in midfield and up top but that's all.

This won't be pretty to watch. That you can garentuee.

I'm not so sure of that. In the past couple of games (barring last wednesday) we have looked like returning to our early season form. We created a hell of a lot of chances against Benfica and Newcastle in exciting open games, and it was only our defensive problems that let us down.

the CC match should not be included because it was drastically different from our normal sides.

we did look very good v Benfica and Newcastle.

City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs win. We really have to win today and keep up the pressure.

This has 0-0 written all over it, just waiting for Villa's comically negative line up with 7 defenders.

Full team: Lindegaard, Smalling, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Jones, Rooney, Young, Hernandez.

MUFC subs: De Gea, Evans, Giggs, Park, Welbeck, Fletcher, Valencia.

Hmmm not sure about Jones in the middle with Carrick but I suppose Fergie wants to keep Fletcher fresh/fit for midweek. Rest of the team is good though not sure why we need to rotate the goalie now.

Fletcher injured again. Think fergie likes jones positive runs from midfield.
