On another note though, would what would happen to Bebe and Fletcher if we signed Messi and Xavi? Dont wanna hold back Bebe's development or anything...
The thing with Eden Hazard is, he is a player who would fit fantastically into a team like Arsenal, but Manchester United play such a traditional (some say dated) use of wingers, that it makes it difficult for these kind of players to come and fit right in. I imagine if he joined say, Arsenal, he would slot right in and feel at home, but if any player joins us, it's a hit and miss situation whether the player can adapt into our system.
On top of all this, there is just too much heat surrounding this player for us to be sounded out as genuine contenders to sign him. He'll get 50% extra wages warming Real Madrid's bench.
Tell that to that boy Ronaldo.
If they're good enough, we accomodate them, no question about it. We practically redefined the winger role to make the best use of his talent.
Would not want Valencia to leave for either.
If by some miracle Hazard and Gotze arrive at United then we'll see the departures of the likes of Park,Valencia I'm sure of.One of them would be fantastic to have
Gotze and Hazard is a fecking dream world. Imagine how good that would be!!
In reality we may get Rodwell.
Manchester City are preparing a £30m bid for Lille's Eden Hazard this January as Roberto Mancini looks to beat Arsenal in the race to land the sought-after star.
Hazard is one of the most wanted players in Europe and Arsenal tried to land him in the summer before eventually giving up.
Lille held firm and rebuffed offers for the Belgium international but since then, their stance has softened in the wake of his public desire to leave.
Hazard has claimed this is his final season at Lille and the French club will grant him his wish to leave - with Arsenal still keen.
But Manchester City are proposing a deal that would beat Arsene Wenger to the punch according to France Football. Mancini is planning a £30m move for Hazard - on the condition that Lille can have him straight back on loan until the end of the season.
With the 20-year-old definitely off in the summer, City hope their move to let Hazard stay in France will appeal to Lille and swing the balance in their favour.
I think he'll end up going to Real Madrid if I'm being honest. There's obviously the connection to Zidane, and Real Madrid can add a health salary on the top of that as well. I'd love it if we could sign him, but unfortunately, I can't really see that happening. We're not desperate for a winger at the moment, anyway, so we won't be missing out all that much.
He is not just a winger. He is a Ozil-type player. He can play central attacking mid too.
He can, but I don't think we're in desperate need of a player there either, considering Rooney often plays there. I would class Rooney as a slightly more advanced second striker, but the whole idea of the role is the same.
So you need no backup? Can Rooney play there every game? Hazard is a playmaker. A Hazard-Rooney combo in big games will be more damaging than a Hernandez/Welbeck-Rooney combo.
I'm not saying that he wouldn't provide good backup, but remember the price. I don't want us to pay what potentially could be a club record fee for a backup player. Hazard/Rooney would be a good combo, but I personally prefer to see Rooney in the playmaker role.
Manchester City ready to offer £25m for Lille's Eden Hazard, claims agent
The representative of the Belgian prodigy feels the cash-rich English club could be set to make their intentions known by making a big-money bid for his client in the near future
The agent of Lille attacker Eden Hazard has revealed that he is expecting a €30 million (£25m) bid from Manchester City for his client in January.
Marc Fourmeux, who represents the Belgium international, says he expects Roberto Mancini's men to make the first move ahead of the likes of Real Madrid and Inter with an offer that would also see the attacker stay in France until the end of the season on loan.
"There is much talk of an offer of €30m (£25m) from Manchester City, which will see him remain at Lille for the next six months," the agent told AS.
"His future is in any case destined for a big European club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, AC Milan, Inter or Juventus."
However, Fourmeux also intimated that City may need to revise their offer as Lille president Michel Seydoux "is seeking €40m [£33m]", and also gave an update on the situation involving in-demand Rennes and France international midfielder Yann M'Vila.
"In Italy, Inter and AC Milan want him, but it remains to be seen who will pay for him and who can convince him," he revealed.
"Wanted parties must put their hands in pockets. M'Vila is estimated at €20m [£16.7m] but it is unclear where he would go."
"His future is in any case destined for a big European club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, AC Milan, Inter or Juventus."
The real agent Hazard formally denied the words of Formeaux, a single usurper
LILLE Statements As held in by Marc Formeaux, presented by the Spanish daily as Eden Hazard agent but also the French Yann M'Vila as saying "that Eden would be well in Madrid" have fueled recent conversations hours in the pre-transfer market. Contacted today, the real agent of Hazard formally denied the words of Formeaux, a single usurper. "It has absolutely nothing to do with Eden," said the officer assigned devil. Currently on vacation after a grueling first half of the season, Hazard is a family resource and does not decide on his future at the right time.
Not even a mention. Close thread.
Manchester United Plan £25m Bid for Lille Superstar
Lille midfielder Eden Hazard could soon be the subject of a £25million bid from Premier League champions Manchester United, according to reports in Italy.
Tuttomercatoweb.com has reported that United will be the first team to make an official offer for the Belgium international who is attracting interest from some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Hazard has increased his reputation this season with seven league goals after first grabbing the headlines as he helped Lille secure the Ligue 1 title last season.
The 20-year-old has already made it clear that he want to leave France at the end of the season, news that has alerted the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Spanish giants Real Madrid.
However, the Italian website claims that after seeing his side lose 3-0 to Newcastle on Wednesday night, Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to start the bidding war for Hazard.
Manchester United previously sent scouts to watch the attacking midfielder in action against Paris Saint-Germain before Christmas and believe he has the ability to improve their squad.
Ferguson will almost certainly have to wait until the summer to lure Hazard away from the French club but is already planning making a £25m offer as he hopes to tempt the youngster into a move to Old Trafford.
With Real Madrid pushing for his signature, United will hope that can retain their title and convince Hazard that the club is still one of the biggest names in European football.
There is no way Hazard will move to Chelsea. If they even think of making an offer, Madrid will finish signing him the next day.
feck it, I'll settle for Di Maria, then.
Yeah like he is going to move from Madrid to Chelsea. His career is starting to go brightly and he is settling well in Madrid. What makes you think he is going to move to anywhere in general let alone Chelsea?
