Joe Cole came on as a sub, he didn't touch the ball a lot but when he did it was evident he was still the same technical player. He did well with his run before setting up Obraniak.
I think his technique is perfect for a team like Lille and if he's fit he will unlikely be a flop.
@gambit: It was all about Hazard. He has bulked up since last season, he's stronger on the ball.

I was kidding.

Zidane will convince him to join Madrid. Although there's a possibility that Fergie will see him as a too good to miss talent and go for him. There were some vague rumors about us being interested in him.

We don't really need a winger like him, nor do we usually go for this kind of player (extremely talented but already famous and followed by a number of top European clubs).

Anderson and Nani were both considered very talented and were followed by a number of top European clubs (Especially Anderson)

They only had one professional season under their belt if I remember correctly and Anderson managed just 15 starts for Porto if I remember correctly. Nani came int prominence the season before we signed him. Hazard made his name last season and seems to be bulding on that this term, he has been linked with nearly all top clubs across Europe, it's a slightly different scenario. It's not unthinkable that we will go for someone like him in the future but with City, Chelsea, Madrid and Barcelona all throwing heavy money around it won't be straightforward.

Ando was labelled as a big talent very early in his career. The reason for his low starts was because he had broken his leg whilst playing for Porto although Fergie himself admitted that they didn't needed Anderson but had to sign him because he was a great talent.

Nani was as you say rose into prominence in the season before we signed him.

Ronaldo had all the Europe going after him but we managed to sign him whereas Tevez was an established player when we signed him.

Ronaldo wasn't even a regular at Sporting when we signed him, he was expected to break into their first team the following season but we snapped him after his brilliant performance against us in that friendly they won. He had teams from all over the Europe watching him but I remember reading that few of them were prepared to make a bid, let alone a £12m bid that seemed very high at the time.

I remember Anderson being labelled as second biggest talent in the world by someone on here when we signed him, think it was a lad called kanchelskis14.

Tevez is a good call although technically we never signed him. :smirk:

He played 30 odd games in the season for Sporting. Not bad for a 17yr old in his debut season

Did he? I always thought he played just a few, at the end of season. My mistake.

Personally if we're going to spend big money on a youngster I'd rather it be Mario Goetze then Hazard. Having watched quite a few Dortmund games last season I feel they play a very similar pace of football as we do, with pressing, movement and Mario Goetze has the technique, pace and vision to excel in our midfield.

Cheers for uploading that goal KM, I was looking to do it myself, but was unable to find it.

United have no use of him right now, unless Berbatov were to leave and United tried to use Hazard more centrally, or push Young central, and let Hazard play wide. It's unlikely.

Arsenal do need him more, but then would he come? I suspect he would because we'd double his wages, but then we'd run the risk of having endless tortuous links to Barcelona every summer.

Maybe Fergie will see him as a talent too good to miss him and sign him, just as he did with Rooney, Ando and Jones. I still think he'll sign for Madrid though, Zidane is a huge fan of this lad.

We were also pretty interested in Sanchez(confirmed by Bob Cass who has been pretty spot on this summer). He and Sanchez both play in the same position so I can see us going for him.

Seems a massive talent this lad. And he made the right decision to stay at Lille and gain more experience at such a young age.

My heart won't be able to take another torturous, long, overdrawn transfer saga like Ozil, Sneijder etc!

I would reserve judgement until he steps up a league - the French league made Chamakh look good!

Bordeaux played some wonderful football when they had Gourcuff on top form with Chamakh and that Argentinian striker ( Cxxx can't remember the name ) but lets not just look at Chamakh as players like Hazard who are so good on the ball usually are very good players once they have the proper players around them.

Chamakh to me has a weak mentality which isn't suited for the PL imo.

Cavenghi, I remember him because he was absolutely immense in FM 2007 (I think that was the year)

Suprisingly enough, so does Sanchez and Young.

Eden Hazard ready to quit Lille | The Sun |Sport|Football

EDEN HAZARD has alerted the Premier League's top clubs by revealing he will move abroad at the end of the season.

The Lille midfielder, 20, is one of the most talented young players in Europe.

He has been tracked by Real Madrid, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs in recent years.

And despite being under contract until 2015, the Belgian is ready to move on.

Hazard said: "I feel ready to make it to the next level at a big club.

"I stayed in Lille this season because there were still things I had to work on, things to prove. But now, I'm ready."

Hazard has been linked with a move to Lille's big-spending French rivals Paris St Germain.

But he added: "Paris is not for now. Paris is magical, as they say. Of course it attracts me, but for now, no.

"In France I do not want to build a rival club to Lille. After France, I want to go abroad."

Whose left that can outbid us that needs a midfielder?

But Real and City don't need him and we can offer him better wages, and chances for glory, than Arsenal.

Is that really going to stop them?

No we won't. Real and City can do better.

Plus he loves Arsenal and Real come in a close second. So given the choice between one of those four clubs, it is highly likely he will choose one of Real or Arsenal.

Seems an Arsenal type player. City and Madrid seem to be loaded in those areas of the pitch Hazard plays. I'm not sure he's much different to Ashley Young in the positions he plays or can play.

I would say Ozil is a good comparison too.
