Eden Hazard | "I am signing for Chelsea"

Now who wouldn't want CL football? It's more a case of which club will give him the best opportunity,CL football, financial package etc. I wouldn't rule out Arsenal for those factors as well as London life

I'm have no doubt that he would want CL football but at his age he may be prepared to sit it out for another year or so if he thinks there is a chance it would be a short term thing. Suarez did it.

I think the fee will work agaisnt Arsenal as they don't like to spend big money. Unless of course they offload Nasri for a wedge.

He was voted player of the year this season by his peers. His value will be too high now for United to even have a single chance of signing him :(

Arsenal are apparently favorites to land him, and we could easily compete with them in the market, although I don't think I've ever seen us being linked with this kid. I don't think the likes of Madrid and Barcelona will go for him, City are a possibility though and so are Chelsea.

According to reports Lille are ready to sell their sought-after starlet Eden Hazard.

Hazard, who won the Ligue Une Player of the Year last season, is understood to have a queue of top clubs after his signature, including Manchester United.

Lille president Michel Seydoux has claimed that the 20 year-old is not leaving the club.

However, SportItalia understands that negotiations have already begun for the sale of the Belgian.

United and Bayern Munich are believed to be heading the chase for his signature.

Bayern are supposedly making a move for him according to Sky.

Why?

He'll cost a bomb anyway.

Hazard plays in a similiar area no? I know we've been keeping tabs on Hazard for a year or two and yes he'd probably cost another 5-10 million, but he might be a better option for us?

Although, i'm not suggesting i'm an expert of French football :)

£20M I reckon. Going to Bayern would be an odd move for him, and once you get there it's hard to get out.

I'd take him over Sanchez. Not necessarily because he's better, but because he'd suit us more.

He's class.

I'd imagine every team in the world would be in for him if they reckoned they stood a chance.

Arsenal has always had a special relationship with him in the press, but I doubt they'd be able to compete with the likes of Real and Barca.

In what sense? I think completely the opposite.

What makes you say this? according to those on here that follow French football and him, he still fades out of matches in the last 20 minutes and is clearly not as physically strong as Sanchez.

Why so?

Sanchez is clearly a stronger player and in that sense he'd fit in to the PL quicker but Hazard is more so what we need based on his position, and he can always bulk up too. He's also more creative, but he wouldn't have the instant impact that Sanchez could likely make.

From the little I've seen of him and mostly from highlights and what I've read on here, he'd be a great addition to our team.

Though I don't necessarily understand why we are being linked with so many wingers? Our squad depth has never been a issue for us, but it is our starting XI which needs improvement, mainly in the centre of midfield.

They're fairly simple reasons which is why I was asking you, I thought you'd have the more interesting insight or viewpoint!

Firstly as an out and out winger Sanchez is better, and we know how much Sir Alex loves wingers while we've seen very few examples of wide playmakers in his time here. Secondly because Sanchez's defensive contribution is much better. Thirdly because I think stylistically Sanchez embodies a lot of what our attacking play is about to a bigger degree than Hazard.

You realize you've just summarized Valencia there, right? :)

He's defensively better, that's for sure. But do you really see Hazard as a future winger? I think he's definitely more of a central attacker than a winger, or will be in future years, that's why he's what we need more, especially if Young comes in. He's also ridiculously quick (I know, so is Sanchez) and he'd wreak havoc through the middle of the park given the proper training and physical progression.

I don't quite know why you think Sanchez is 'stylistically' better really. Nor do I really understand what you ever mean. Hazard is a more creative player.

Obviously they're both fantastic which is why this is almost a personal viewpoint for most people at this stage.

Sanchez is nothing like Valencia IMO, he's also played most of this season as a #10, even dropping deeper into midfield in some of the games I saw, he has a very inventive range of passing as well.

i never said he was, it was just a jest.

I don't know why some posters have that idea that United can choose between Sanchez and Hazard... The latter is chased by absolutely all the top clubs in Europe and sadly the chances are very small to see him land in Manchester

And the former is going to Barca if they decide to bid for him.

It's a fair comparison though, probably the 2 most talented wingers/attackers of their age group.

But no, we'll very likely not get either.

But they'll both move this Summer so it's no problem discussing it.

That's true for Sanchez as well. It's very unlikely that we'll sign either.

If it's just about comparing their talent fair enough, but trying to assess which one United needs more and whether they fit our attack stylistically :wenger: is a bit over the top IMO. As for the competition around Sanchez, I thought it was lesser than for Hazard but it's true they will both be hard to get anyway

Not sure, I think Sanchez is nailed on to Barca now given his comments. It's just whether they will provide the money.

Hazard on the other hand is being linked to just about every major club out there.

Might be a good stepping stone - only young and he'll probably play every week. Might not if he comes to the PL or to Spain.

Could get a lot of experience in a good leage then clinch a move to a really top side in England or Spain.

just seems that players get very comfortable at bayern.

they are a massive club, great facilities, very wealthy, pay good wages, great history, run well, win trophies, get to be in the cl consistently.

and they're in a shit league.

I don't know why any club would choose the Bundesliga over either the PL, or Real/Barca in La Liga.

You think talking about what player suits us more is over the top, regardless of whether we're in for them? Given some of the things you come out with I don't have a clue what you mean...

Nice to hear he's realistic about his chances of breaking into their team

Barca are being linked with absolutely every highly rated young talent now though. They'll never buy all of them. They'll get Fabregas, a left back and then probably Sanchez if they decide they want him.

Given Barca have announced they have £45m to spend I can see them getting much change from just one big money signing so it's either Rossi or Fabregas IMO

You really believe that's what they have to spend?

It's just a ploy to fool clubs into thinking they haven't that much money to bargain with.

And they'll probably offload a few youngsters for 20m+ too.

Cant disagree with any of that. Bayern are a great family club & Germany should be a massive draw for any footballer, great Country..

If you have seen through it do you think any of the selling clubs are just going to buy it an let Barca have their players cheap?

So no one's gone shopping for little Hazard? Le Arse got his teammate Gervinho, but Hazard is probably the better player. He was named UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Year.

We got Young, so I'm not going to go full muppet and say United should go after him, but I really thought he'd move to a top side this season. At least we'll get to see him in the Champions League, I hope Lille have a good run.

Spot-on prediction, by the way.
