I thought you made good points. Nothing wrong with what you said. It was never about either or for me or that this guy dives and this guy doesn't. I even said as much but I've been misquoted every time I try to make a point.
Hardly surprising though. Boss is a huge Messi fan and defends him to death (even though I wasn't slating him at all). Fair enough. And Danny jumps in and defends Barcelona a lot. Either it's because he's a fan (I genuinely thought he was a Barcelona fan until recently and not a Man Utd fan) or perhaps because he likes to take up the glove for the one getting slated a lot or perhaps he feels people speak wrongly. Perhaps it's little of each.
Fact of the matter is that Ronaldo has hugely cut out his unsportsmanship conduct out of his game since his early seasons with us and he's not one of the biggest cheats in football. That and Messi isn't perfect is all I've been saying.
I think burrow made some horrible points. He just tried to ram it down ones throat, no homo, that they both dive as much as each other. That one must accept his version of events or you're foolish/spastic etc. For me that's bullshit by some distance having watched these players their whole careers. I know who dives more. 90% of football fans do. I'm well capable of drawing my own conclusions without his bizarre rants.
Being a Messi dickrider really has nothing to do with me thinking Ronaldo is one of the biggest divers of all time. I'm not sure what rock you've been under but most fans think this. I know that shit is painful to swallow, no homo but it's how it is. It's pretty much a universal opinion. If not the one of the biggest he's certainly the most high profile diver of all time.
When you think Ronaldo, you think of many key words. Tall, strong, scoring machine, handsome, great header, free kicks and diving.... It's key to his game, at times it can be an asset for any team.
Go on to any forum, any random one pick one. Try a wigan one for example, do a poll on whether Ronaldo is one of the biggest divers ever, the results will be very conclusive.
Even Iniesta, a massive diver at the time was telling Ronaldo in the first real camp nou clasico not to accuse him of diving seeing that Ronnie's got the biggest reputation for it.
'Yeah I'm a massive diver but son.....you're cristi-fecking Ronaldo!....so shhh yeah, or I'll go upside your head with my polka dot manbag after the game'
Again, you didn't read correctly. I said his first season with Real. Not this season. I have see him diving this season. Fact his, guy comes at him hard from behind. Goes at his foot. He loses his prime balance and goes down easy. He could have stayed up but he probably wouldn't have gotten the free kick. You don't get free kicks anymore unless you go down. That's thanks to years and years of diving from players around the world.
Ronaldo was really bad his first season. True. Perhaps the 2nd season as well. But he was 18 years old. Not a 3rd placed medalist at the WC and former Ajax captain who bites people.
Word.....?
Anyways going down easily is a dive, especially when you're built like a tank. Maybe this is why you're not seeing what many others do.
Anyway this convo is stupid, it's just me pointing out the obvious repeatedly.
My original point in this thread was, I believe a lot of the hate attributed to Barca, not by everybody of course as Barca are despicable in their own right but quite a few on here is because Ronaldo moved to Spain. It's why in my opinion certain posters show bias to Real, shout hala madrid and want them to win etc.
For me it's no coinscidence that many of the most vocal haters of Barca on here.......................just happen to be huge fans of Ronaldo. From Lailiani to whoever. I remember being attacked by one poster pre season for suggesting Real are still behind Barca during the supa copa.
Pretty innocuous comment, but the personal attacks had to do with the lad being a huge Ronnie fan.
and like I said, it's very understandable. When Beckham moved to Real quite a few United fans started liking Real and wanted Becks to win with them. It's no different with Ronaldo, it's just people are too ashamed to admit that this is the case but there you go! There's nothing to be ashamed of.
You see Pogue likes to beat around the bush with this point, I just go in and say it.....it's obvious!
Yes!?
Is this little sub discussion dabatable? What have I missed? Btw Boss. Suarez? You can't be serious. I must say I admirer your stubbornness. feck man that was an odd choice to come out clear.
Maybe I am tripping! are we not talking about Ronaldo? Just as Suarez is the biggest diver in the prem now, Ronaldo was when he was in England. What's the difference? The baton has just been passed on. Are you going to tell me Suarez is a bigger diver than Ronaldo ever was?
