I suspect this is what we will do anyway. Keep the same side as against QPR including Welbeck who even though I have doubts about his productivity short term, he was unlucky to see his goal chalked off by another incompetent linesman. Hernandez has only just got back from injury and let him work to get back into the side.

Same team please. We have a couple of relatively easy home games coming up so use those to keep the rest of the squad ticking over.

We won't be unchanged again so anyone hoping for that will be disappointed.

We have a squad and it's meant for times like this. I'm expecting at least 3 changes.

Based on this, 2-0 looks like a great shout, Rooney & OG to score...

And when is Cleverley back? Will he at least be on the subs bench for this one?
Still no target date for Cleverley supposedly, I'd be surprised if we see him before Christmas, maybe even the new year.

I can see us going 4231 here, with only slight changes from QPR. But perhaps going 442 makes more sense while we're short in midfield and we have all of our strikers bar Owen fit. If we had more resources in midfield this is a ground I'd prefer playing three in the middle at:

de Gea
Smalling Ferdinand Evans Evra
Jones Carrick
Valencia Giggs Nani
Rooney
--
Lindegaard; Fryers; Gibson, Park, Young; Welbeck, Hernández

We'll probably play two strikers though, which would likely mean Berbatov makes the bench over Gibson. It just seems un-Fergie-like to play the same team for three games in a row, especially when the next game is three days after. I can just see the likes of Rafael, Young, Hernández, and Park getting into the side. But perhaps seeing Welbeck, Rooney, and Nani subbed off against QPR means they're guaranteed to start here. Regardless, Wigan at Old Trafford might be the game where Fergie thinks he can rest some of the players who have played every game recently (although they did surprise Chelsea).

Really have to win this now to keep up with City. Counting the QPR game we should be getting 12/12 points and scoring more than 10 goals overall (with Wigan and Blackburn at Old Trafford after this). If we play like we did for the majority of the QPR game and take our chances, we'll piss all over the holiday period.

I would be shocked if Fergie plays the same XI for this game. Today (QPR) must have been one of the first time in years that he has played a completely unchanged team. With us having two games in 4 days and then another on Boxing Day, I just think he'll give a few players a bit of a rest.

Would be a mistake in my eyes as we are really looking like we are gelling as a team over the last few weeks and think we can kick on to keep the pressure on City, especially considering that they have a comparatively easy home game on the same day.

I reckon Young will start as will Hernandez

This.

Fulham away is extremely tough for us. The hussle and flow of a Fulham game is great for Park. Let Nani rest for Boxing Day. Welbeck deserves to keep his spot until he hits a run of poor form. I thought our backline looked suspect against QPR. Fulham with a hussling Dempsey will punish us for that. So I'd throw Smalling in the middle and Jones out wide to the right. The middle of the pitch should be fine - Fulham aren't dangerous there.

----------De Gea----------
Jones--Smalling--Rio---Evra
Valencia-Carrick-Giggs-Park
------Rooney-Welbeck-----

You'd drop Evans after his best game for us in a long while? The main reason the defence looked suspect in my opinion was down to Evra.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Jones being given a rest though.

Lindegaard

Smalling Ferdinand Evans Evra

Carrick
Jones Giggs

Nani Rooney Wellbeck

Bye bye fulham.

I think we really need to play a full strength side against Fulham. We can rest players after this game because its Wigan and Blackburn at home.

One of the away fixtures I look forward to most. Lovely old ground, fantastic pitch, cool goal nets and it always reminds me of Ronaldo's winner in 2007 very late in the game.

I'd drop him because Smalling is better at CB. And Jones is better at RB.

Fulham are not a battle-hardened central team. They are a wing-based team that pressures the CBs more than the midfielders. Because of that, Carrick and Giggs should be alright in a 4-4-2.

Though knowing are luck there, I'd think about a 4-5-1 at least for the first 60 minutes. But we have too many strikers available now..

One of the away games i least look forward to based on the past few visits. Hopefully that all changes on wednesday night.

Just remembered that every time I've watched Fulham this season, they've been decent
Getting nervous now :x

Dembele-Dempsey-Ruiz

I'm not that worried. I think keeping a somewhat consistent backline will help in terms of familiarity and cohesion. I'd play basically the same team we played on sunday with only a couple of changes.

It's a decent strike force but for whatever reason, I'm not that worried. Hopefully Evra starts out better because unlike QPR, Fulham will punish us for silly mistakes.

Hopefully Riise will play as his usual self, which means we have to exploit all that room he leaves behind on their left side. Heavy pressure on Hangeland, and he'll make some sloppy passes.

Why would you drop DDG?

exactly...

he should just play the same team that played the last 2 games and then change it around for wigan and blackburn at home which will be handier games
