Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

Insanely overrated player. Take away that hat trick against Inter (who are absolutely appalling and have been since Mourinho left) and he's done feck all to merit the hype.

Brilliant thing to say on the day he scores 2.

Against Norwich. Whoop de fecking doo.

This season he has been far more effective in terms of contributions to his team. He has scored a few goals and set up a few too.

According to a few Spurs fans, Bale got ape shit comments from a section of the crowd, literarlly. He was doing his best Gorilla impersonation to rile them up with his celebrations.

best left sided player in the premier league.. has a peach of a cross too..
hard-worker...
I would take him in a heart beat

I've said this many times. He's simply brilliant, and will turn into one of the best players in the world in a few years. We do need to get this kind of talent at the club ala Phil Jones and without wanting to sound arrogant, he's tailor made for United and hopefully destined for it, like Berbatov

Said he looked quality about 2 years ago. Was one of my picks for the transfer market last summer and the summer before. Modric too....bloody spurs.

Saying that I thought he looked lazy last night, and don't know whether it was deliberate or not but neither he nor VdV were sticking to their positions. Realistically if Norwich had just overlapped a bit on the flanks they may have had some success.

Redknapp said after the game that he told Bale and Van der Vaart to do whatever they wanted

If Spurs hold on and finish in 3rd then I can't see them losing Bale or Modric any time soon.

Both quality players but not worth the ridiculous (£40m+?) fee required to prise them away.

SATA you've been riding his balls for too long. One of the best players in the world!?!?!? Dont you think that's a bit premature. My goodness chill.

I belittled his two goals yesterday but deary me, chill the feck out.

Nani is twice the player Bale is when playing on the left. Good player, doubt he will ever be remotely near the worlds best.

I think it's fairly reasonable to suggest that he could become one of the best players in the world. If we are to take a lenient view of what's considered "one of the best in the world".

I don't agree personally but he is one of the best young players in the world.

P.S. I'm not interested in comparing him to a huge list of young players that someone posts in order to say "OMG LOL here are 17 young players who are like LOADS better than Gareth Bale ROFL". So if you were thinking of doing that, stop it now. And if someone else is thinking of doing it ironically now that I've posted this DON'T DO THAT EITHER, because some thick cnut won't read it in context and will reply seriously, and then someone else will, and then I'll get angry and reply to them both because they'll inevitably be completely and utterly wrong.

Bale has a left foot not far different from Beckhams right, great shot/passing and free kicks (although nowhere near as good as with free kicks) - add in his powerful running ability and it makes him a special player

How many other players around the world can do what bale does? At the same time because his ability is Partly based on his physique it won't last forever

As someone just posted Nani is a more talented player who will get more goals/assists this season again

Weren't Barcelona interested in him last season. Won't be surprised if they make a move for him again. Him and Dani Alves on the flanks would be lethal.

That could work well - with barca's possession he wouldnt be such a defensive liability at left back and would be frightening going forward from left back

Excellent player. Better than valencia for those that are comparing them.

I've changed my mind on Bale, he seems to have added consistency and got over the niggly injuries that plagued his early career.

Now he looks the real deal

United should turn their attentions to him for next season. That is all.

I can't see United bidding for what Spurs will be asking for.

He has turned in to a quality player, his endurance is amazing. His second goal yesterday was pretty similar to one of the goals against Inter last season but with an added cheek. Saying all that, i don't think we need him (yet).

hes a good player but his game is based on pace. It will be interesting to see if he can re-invent himslef once his main asset is gone.

No different to Ronaldo then. Strong and fast.

He's a young lad with (barring injuries) years left of being very quick. He could be a real superstar in my opinion - not only very fast but very direct and a great athlete - compare him to other "fast" player like Lennon and Walcott and he's quite simply streets ahead.

Could probably take it to the next level at a really top club.

The comparison was always a more effective, left-footed version of Valencia. Largely because of his superior goal threat.

Not so sure about that phrase and Bale to be honest. There is certainly a way to nullify him. His style will never reach that level of "unplayability" the worlds top wingers can reach.

A very bold comment.

I'd be interested to know what he he doesnt have that you think the World's "top players" do.

His pace and strength mean that in a good side (as with Spurs currently) when he gets the ball in space there's not a lot you can do to stop him running at you. The kid he was running at last night new exactly what he was going to do for the second goal (as did everyone watching) but could still do nothing to stop him.

Last night he wasn't really playing on the wing though, making him much more difficult to combat. He was all over the place, didn't do it as well as some play the free role, but its not a role he's played regularly. Will be interesting to see if he improves in that role as he plays it more often, and I for one imagine he may well.

Unplayable last night

He's never unplayable. If anything, that's his main flaw. He may have played well yesterday, but if he'd been tightly man marked by a quality defender, then I guarantee he wouldn't have been as effective.

So, Berbatov was shit then yesterday?

No I'm just saying scoring two goals against Norwich isn't quite the same as scoring two against United or Barca. I mean this morning I've had someone say to me he is by far the best player in the league. This sort of bollocks is why I can't stand Bale.

No different to Ronaldo then. Strong and fast.

Ronaldo isn't just strong and fast. If these two attributes are all it takes to score 50-60 goals a season, we'd have shitloads of those players.
