Manchester United vs. Blackburn Rovers

But half the players are not in their natural position.

I can see why we're fecking up here - players aren't comfortable in the roles selected. Welbeck out wide - not working. Park and Rafael in central midfield - not working.

Blackburn are offering nothing up front, so why not move Carrick into midfield for Rafael? Get Anderson on alongside him. Get Park out wide left and haul one of the strikers off.

It'd be a much better balance.

I'm struggling to be positive here and that's unusual. Can't see us fashioning anything. This is worse than the Basel game.
Still 45 mins to go and plenty of time to change things, I can't see us not scoring at Old Trafford.

If we score early in the second half then we'll batter them.

If Carrick's was a booking every single foul is a yellow card. For some reason rugby tackling somebody on the edge of the box wasn't a foul.

Blackburn were on the attack running at the defence. Not the tackle as much as positon and context for me.

I agree with the second part of your post mind.

because they are injured, but Rooney isn't.

Are you fecking reading this thread at all? Since you posted about rooney on the last page at least 3 people have pointed out now (one of them sarcastically but i still chuckled) he has a few knocks and fergie pointed this out before the match. He is not playing for a reason, he has missed training this week

So Chris Waddle has spent his entire life so far, mostly based in football, thinking that the world penalty is pronounced 'pelanty'. Is there a charity or something set up for him where I can help out?

Nice gesture Hectic, very christmassy of you, but i fear that Waddle may be beyond all hope!

There are however causes much worthier than his, should you be willing to contribute. The Apotheosis New Year's Day Recuperation fund welcomes any donations!

What changes at half time? One thing for sure is that we have to properly get people in positions, we nee to stop running around wherever we want.

> Anderson
< Chicharito

Hernandez is unlucky to go off, he didn't do much but he offers the goal threat.

If he came on there's still a risk of exacerbating the injury, we have the players on the pitch to beat Blackburn IMO, Giggs should be in the squad but other than that it's fine. I think Macheda and Gibson aren't involved due to pending loans/moves, that's my hunch anyway.

No, we don't have the players on the pitch to beat Blackburn. That's my point: it's arrogance to believe any experimental line-up with half the players playing out of position is good against a Premier League team. It isn't.

We are in the midst of an injury crisis so leaving out those senior players who are actually available is foolish.
