Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

Proud of Paddy and the club as a whole after this. Firstly: for him for standing by his convictions and not being prepared to accept being abused in such a disgusting manner. Secondly: for the club backing him unreservedly, then when the backlash arrived for keeping a dignified silence - as asked - and simply presenting their evidence as coherently and honestly as possible.

Hopefully this is a huge step forward in kicking this horrible plight on the game out for good and those backward "what stays on the pitch" neanderthals finally get a wake-up call.

Well said.

On a sidenote, I imagine there are a few unhappy football hacks out there. Saturday night ruined now with editors demanding a report to file for tomorrow's papers. Imagine having to break all that down now

Yes. Poor journos will actually have to read the whole thing and do their research rather than making up stories like they normally do.

Listening to SNN. What was that statement about then? who the feck is running that club? Liverpool aren't looking good at all, I hope they're punished for their subsequent actions.

I hope they used it to full effect and spent a good 2-3 seconds playing out their names, "We will now hear statements from Miiistaaaaa Evra and Miiistaaaaa Suarez", over and over and over again.

Haha! Look at this!

He asked Mr Evra, as the visiting captain, to call the colour.
Mr Marriner tossed the coin, it came down yellow, and he awarded it to Steven Gerrard
who elected to stay in their current ends. Manchester United had kick off. Mr Evra
remonstrated that he had called correctly but, Mr Marriner said, he had not. Mr Evra then
spoke to Ryan Giggs about it, and Mr Marriner walked over to Mr Evra to assure him that
he (Mr Marriner) had got it right. Mr Evra's evidence was that when such a coin was
used, he always called yellow given that the alternative, blue, is a Manchester City colour,
which he would never call

fecking love you Paddy

Is this true?

So let me get this straight, he told Kuyt that he was racist yet Kuyt still wore a t-shirt in support of him?

The timing is indeed amazing for a number of reasons. As Jo Moore might say, it's a good day to bury unacceptable results.

Wow. I can't believe.

I thought 8-game ban was enough. It looks less 'enough' now, doesn't it?

It should be closer to 80 games.

Personally I think Evra should be forever known as 'Mr Evra', such as the team announcer...

"David De Gea! Mr Evra! Rio Ferdinand!

Also when us fans are talking about the game..

"So Mr Evra runs down the wing, plays a 1-2 with Giggsy, Mr Evra plays in a terrific cross and Chicharito heads it in"

Also, on the back of our shirts it should say 'Mr Evra'.

I think the panel should have considered Mockney's video as evidence.

The funny thing is Scousers have become experts on the naunces of South American lingo...and negerito in particular. It's a shame he didn't actually say that though.

It downloads as ashx, although changing the file extension to pdf allows me to access it.

It's probably an FA/Sir Alex conspiracy.

I saw on RAWK that if you change the file extension to .mp3, it plays 'United Road'.

The one thing I don't really understand is that Liverpool believed they could essentially 'cover it up'. If it didn't come out now it was bound to in a few years anyway. Players will leave and time will pass and somebody will eventually tell all on the Liverpool end of this mess.

Everyone tries to cover everything up these days. Why are they so bad at it? At least ask a lawyer how to lie before you do it on camera or to a journalist!

It's like Gary Cook thinking he could blame his offensive email on 'hackers'. fecking ridiculous, no respect at all.

The punishment should be doubled for the attempt to cover it up.

So many budding lawyers there on RAWK. Apparently this will go all the way to the highest courts.

I've been reserving judgement on the validity of the verdict until I read the report. Now that I've read it I don't think you can argue with the findings.

We can cherrypick the report to pieces but broadly speaking it seems to be pretty accurate. I'm especially not a fan of us seemingly misleading the investigative process in the immediate aftermath of the incident. The club really discredited themselves there. I've tried to give the club and Suarez the benefit of the doubt but it's pretty clear that overall Suarez was in the wrong here

Sensible. Of course, immediately shot down:

Crawling out the wood work again I see.. Reported.

I guess the thing I take away from it all is that no matter how much Liverpool FC tried to paint Evra as the villain with falsehoods, which in turn brought further, worse racist abuse upon him (and others on Twitter), it turns out that Suarez is the one who has been judged to be guilty of being an unreliable witness (amongst other things...). What a dirty, immoral bunch of shits to not now have the decency to come out and apologise for their callous behaviour towards Evra while trying to get their player off the hook.

I don't know what I'd do if MUFC dug itself such a hole. It would be absolutely horrible to have to stick by a club like that and I do genuinely feel sorry for all the decent Liverpool supporters out there tonight. People need to lose their jobs.

They should've said that the first time. Evra should sue them for libel.

This will go down well:

Heh. Paddy even defended Suarez then.

And the odds of anyone from rawk paying attention to those particular sentences are how slim exactly?

Very impressive testimony from Mr Evra - loved the fact that it showed he was a credible and impressive witness.

This really does make Liverpool's actions to this point an utterly disgrace.

How could they have thought that their previous statement was wise after they had to actually take part in that whole hearing?!?

This makes a mockery of Liverpool and their fans.

For weeks we've been fed this Negrito red herring, which is a massive load of bullshit.

Evra was called a negro, that much is 100% definite, as Suarez admits it himself. Therefore the charge is proved.

The only doubt now is if he also said that other stuff, which is truly horrendous, but will never be proven one way or the other I suspect.

And it's horrible that Liverpool fans can't accept the fact that Suarez did that.

This club has become a joke. Even bigger than I thought.

This is the crux of the matter

The lack of a newbie system at RAWK really tells. There is a thread in the United forum about the state of our match day threads. Jveezy made an interesting comment about the newbies and how the 'shouting down' of negative comments and users go too far in trying to impress the mods.

I get that exact same feel with RAWK, they all rush in and have a 'who can condemn in the most flowery, rage induced way' to basically impress the powers who be.

So, it's negro, not negrito?
